Discussion: Dershowitz: Trump Talk Of Pardons Same Thing As Prosecutors' 'Bribe' Of Witnesses

ā€œYou know how Rudy says he can’t find the word ā€˜collusion’ in the U.S. Code?ā€ he added.

ā€œWell, I have news for you. We can’t find the word ā€˜dangle’ either!ā€

Trump’s defense team gets stupider every day.

Of course dangling pardons is the same thing as offering money. Thats what makes it illegal.

Uh, the prosecutors aren’t obstructing justice when they do that, perfesser. You goddamn fake lying POS.

Mr. Derpowitz:

You’ll be working night traffic court when all this is over.

You can be an esteemed Harvard Law Professor and still not understand the law.

Dershowitz is sweating bullets, now that the criminal case against his rapey pal Jeremy Epstein is back in the public eye again. If Dersh has Trump’s back, Donnie will make sure the Palm Beach underage sex scandal stays buried.

So the law professor thinks it’s really bad for laws to be enforced. I’m not interested in hearing his reasoning in that regard, but if my kid had been in one of his classes I’d ask for my money back.

Shouldn’t Dershowitz get out and have some fun ? I’m sure he’s invited to a lot of parties…

If Dershoshits can’t tell the difference Harvard needs to permanently retire this fool.

Everyone Trump associates with has to play dumb.

Dershowitz is 80. Perhaps his flimsy defenses of Trump reflect some degree of cognitive decline?

So this is what Dershowitz does when he’s not defending or partying with child rapists.

Prosecutors: ā€œIf you cooperate and tell us about the crimes you and others have committed, we will take that into consideration when it comes time to sentence youā€.

Trump: ā€œIf you keep quiet about all the crimes we’ve committed together, I’ll pardon you.ā€

Yep, exactly the same thing.

Child molester (alleged) Dershowitz’s idiotic attempt at equivalency is dumber than … I really have no comparison.

I don’t remember prosecutors offering criminals ā€œpardonsā€ to cover up for the prosecutors’ crimes. I suspect that’s mostly because prosecutors aren’t the ones who committed a crime.

How I hope he’s finally taken down in the Jeffrey Epstein scandal.

ā€œThink of what the government does every day, what prosecutors do every day. They literally bribe witnesses by their freedom, sometimes their life and their money.ā€

Forget it, Dersh; come January 3, the Epstein jig is up.

(Oh, and Pro-Tip: Ixnay on the angleday talk. Just sayin’.)

Its the exact same thing except one is used to force criminals to testify about their crimes and tell the truth in court against their co-conspirators and the other tries to cover up crimes by helping people who commit them
plead the 5th and get away with it by committing a crime known as obstruction of justice.

ā€œIt’s so ironic. People complain all the time that President Trump may have dangled pardons in front of people and that constitutes tampering with witnesses and bribery,ā€ he said. ā€œThink of what the government does every day, what prosecutors do every day. They literally bribe witnesses by their freedom, sometimes their life and their money.ā€

I think Dershowitz just confirmed what ā€œwitness tamperingā€ really is.

a prosecutor inducing a witness to tell the truth and cooperate with an inquiry by offering a witness a more lenient sentence

vs.

the subject of that inquiry inducing that same witness to not cooperate and not tell the truth by offering a pardon.

could not be more clear
