Discussion: Dershowitz Calls Covington-WaPo Suit 'Reasonable': 'The World Was Guilty Of Libel'

Somebody change the diaper on Dersh’s mouth. He’s soiled it again.

He must have gotten a lot more money for his soul than I would have thought it was worth.

So that’s what they’re teaching at Harvard these days…

In what universe does this lawsuit make sense - unless the kid and his parents want him to become the next Roger Stone?

They couldn’t sue… THE WORLD… so they sued the Washington Post.

And Judge Thomas said what yesterday? This so-called “libel crisis” seems nicely coordinated, doesn’t it?

Fine, let the little bastard miscreant sue the fucking world then. The Germans, I hear, have especially deep pockets. Or if it’s the physical world, perhaps the jury could award the evil little poltroon the magnetosphere. I’d think we would need that, though.

I cannot wait for Bezos’s lawyers to depose that little shit Sandmann, which is something Mums and Daddums and their crackpot attorney cannot prevent. It ain’t going to be like that coached softball interview that Savannah Guthrie did with the entitled little racist on “The Today Show”. I can see the Bezos attorneys subpoenaing every related email and social media post and school info about Sandmann. And I am sure that Trump’s Tweet against WAPO concerning this case will really help this “white, privileged kid”, as Dershowitz, for once, accurately describes him.

I vote for this corner of the internet to cover frivolous lawsuits if they are newsworthy, but exorcise the zombified corpses of Alan Dershowitz and Lou Dobbs, as well as the demon spawn of Dick Cheney and John McCain. I realize that in Transylvania, a “no monsters” policy will drive the tourists out, but imagine how many smart people will move there!

I am amazed by the story. I went to an all-boys Catholic high school. The teachers and staff at my school would not have allowed the schools the free reign they had. And they certainly taught me to have respect for others including elders. The student’s response once the story was first reported, and now the legal action, are spurred on by political operatives.

The universe will be sued next. In fact, I want to get on that bandwagon. Yeah! I want to sue the fucking universe. Goddam random, feckless piece of miserable spacetime. Rudy is rested ready and embalmed. I’ll see you in court!

Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz called the lawsuit “reasonable” and suggested “the world was guilty of libel” against the high school students after videos of their encounter with a Native American activist at the National Mall went viral.

“These poor kids seemed to be doing exactly the right thing, and then suddenly because they are thought to be white, privileged kids, suddenly everyone’s ganging up on them,” Dershowitz told The Hill. “I’d be interested to see how the case unfolds, I mean they’re asking for a lot of money, I don’t think that’s going to be taken too seriously. … But I do think that they have a significant case and it will be interesting to see how The Post defends against their reporting in the case.”

…
OK so now I am guilty of libel for merely reading a news story?

Alan Dershowitz is supporting some ambulance chasers who jumped on the case as soon as it appeared in the press because they figured they could make some political hay out of it (how much you wanna bet if it had been some white supremacist and not a Native American trival elder this would never have gotten any further?).

Betcha they’re doing it pro bono too.

Trolls with law degrees…

I had the Dersh the first year he taught at Harvard. Sad to see what’s happened to him.

Though I have a specific reason, I’m ok with any possible coordination.
