May they be left with no one.
With this WH were they ever prepared for anything other than making $ from trump businesses?
There are 25 lawyers currently working in the White House counsel’s office, a Republican close to the Trump administration told Politico.
So that’s actually 50 lawyers, since every one of the 25 will have a personal defense attorney.
I think their idea of being prepared for the future is the next 5 minutes, going from one crisis to another with people in the administration that don’t have a clue about how things should work.
Trump is going to assert Executive privilege for every Dem subpoena. He will instruct those responding to take the fifth. Or plead a hazy memory. Or demand delays to organize their records and their response. Some merely won’t show, and dare committees to file contempt charges, which they’ll in turn fight in court. Every case will be taken through as many dockets as possible, all the way to SCOTUS if need be. Every single House pursuit will be turned into cleaning the Augean Stables.
Conclusion: The population of the future staff is heading in the right direction.
Denuded and shrinking.
Thank you Nicole for putting that image in my head.
“Denuded and shrinking” is an interesting phrase.
one can only hope
Time to eradicate the dead-enders.
Then don’t.
Republicans believe in smaller government. Well, start now.
2018, the Alpheus. 2020, the Peneus.
It’s not that the head guy is leaving.
Who’d sign up for a government-salary job knowing most of your paycheck will be going to a high-priced attorney in the private sector so you don’t end up in prison?
Um…yea. How’s the Mueller firing going?
DING DING DING DING
Exactly. And in the process, the Dems will be able to accomplish nothing, also being blocked by the Senate from implementing any corrections or changes while the Administration continues to slash and burn through all the agencies and departments meant to serve and protect the American people.
The groundwork, however, needs to be laid for 2020 so that the damage can start to be repaired.
Trump is waiting on staff to figure out how to do it and at the same time deny him unemployment benefits.
Sounds cold in there.
If only they had gone with “shrinkage”.
I think we are missing what is going on here. If there aren’t enough lawyers to respond to the subpoenas, then the subpoenas won’t be responded to, and Jerry Nadler will be left with empty hands, while the WH has a perfect excuse for its stonewalling.
