Discussion: Dems Wanted To Balance Out Warren With Mark Warner

Discussion for article #230387

Schumer is Exhibit A for much of what ails the Democratic Party today.

Way to go, Chuck. That’s been a winning strategy for the past 6 years.

Many of us in fly-over country haven’t forgotten what Schumer did to Paul Hackett…

Seems to me Schumer is scared of being left in Warren’s shadow while still coddling the banks and Wallstreet.

Geez, Chuck, look at issue polls. Whatever label people have been convinced applies to them, the stuff people favor and oppose – most notably the economic stuff – is virtually identical to the policy profile of the “far left” of the party, like Warren (and others, but too few of them). Until most Democrats stop being psyched out by the GOP’s demonstrably bogus claim that we’re a “center-right” country, they – and we – are well and truly screwed. K

Oh give me a fucking break…

What would Warner do, run behind Liz Warren everywhere she goes, screaming out “SHE DOESN’T MEAN IT!! IT’S OK, SHE DOESN’T MEAN IT!!” so those easily offended Republicans with sensitive feelings don’t feel sad?

Have not seen “coddling” used as a synonym for fellating. Very subtle…good on you, JohnnyReb!

Chuckles Schumer the charter member of the Wall Street wing of the Democratic Party.

it’s not only warren’s ability to speak with authority about the criminal class on wall street that annoys him; but she’s actually able to pull media attention… that’s really the reason schumer hates her…

So do I. Sad, isn’t it?

Ugh, you and my poor cousin…I feel your pain.

further confirmation just how afraid democrats are of themselves and the reason they may never garner the base vote

While I no more expect Schumer to be hostile to Wall Street than I expect Joe Manchin to take on the coal industry, his devotion to protecting the banking industry from the consequences of it’s actions is evidence enough that he should never become the Democratic Senate leader. I’m no fan of Harry Reid, but Schumer would be worse.

Looking forward to when that troll gets run out of the senate

Plain, simple people, the kind the abandoned broadcast regulations were meant to protect from the current handful of domestic and foreign 1%er ownership.

The two-million-buck-chuck approach won’t separate the dems from the puds. The party needs to disengage from so-called “radical centrism” and put some real progressive policies out there that will help all of U.S. Harry, take heed!

Schumer is a smart guy but he’s compromised by his allegiance to wealthy interests and aipac. He represents the thinking behind most of the strategic failures of Dems especially during the Bush years. He’s a surrendering milquetoast proponent and collaborator to the GOP, and Sen. Warner has practically sworn fealty to the GOP agenda in the next congress. Schumer’s not quite a Lieberman but close.
