Discussion for article #241401
Repubbies hoist on their own teatard.
“The Democratic members included previously unreported excerpts of the interview with Mills in the letter”
This is the part where you point out what they are and provide some light analysis instead of implying “read the letter your damn self…we’re too busy tracking down Trump articles.”
And in conclusion, fuck your panel and fuck your witch-hunt.
And so the push to shut down this $4.5 million boondoggle begins.
Basically, they attempted to classify her testimony, after taking numerous steps before, during, and afterwards which would have been illegal if it were classified. (things like, who can be in the room, taking notes…declaring it unclassified at the start, and then leaking the testimony literally within minutes of saying it should be classified).
They brought up a series of accusations that have already been put to bed during the Issa hearings, which Ms. Mills again debunked, but they went ahead and leaked it without the debunkings…again.
I have to say…my gut feels like this has Cummings’ fingerprints all over it. It’s got his style, it’s got his thoughtfulness and righteousness and I hope to god I get to see him on some news programs jamming this shit down every throat he can find.
Haha… I read the letter of course. However, that didn’t stop the article from feeling like it comes to a jarring halt right after the sentence that should provide the opportunity for launching into a thoroughly journalism-like explanation.
The smart move would be to wrap this thing up now, after McCarthy’s blunder.
But these people aren’t really known for smart moves. They will go forward and continued to get dragged through the mud and embarrassed by their attempts. I look forward to more blistering commentary from Cummings as this continues.
About time.
And about fucking time!
Myth has its Pandora’s box
Kevin McCarthy opened the BenGhazi Box…
LaughingLoudly!
Exactly what I was thinking. He scores points with authenticity and righteousness – and without the insufferable, talking-point bullshit of, say, Wasserman-Schultz.
On September 29, 2015, Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy admitted during a nationally televised interview on Fox News that House Republicans created the Benghazi Select Committee from the very beginning to wage a taxpayer-funded political campaign against Hillary Clinton’s bid for president. Obviously, this is an unethical abuse of millions of taxpayer dollars and a crass assault on the memories of the four Americans who were killed in Benghazi.
Nicely put.
Team Hillary goes on offense. About time too.
They don’t care if they get dragged through the mud, they figure if they keep digging in their heels, and kicking and flailing about, at least some of the mud will continue to spatter Hillary.
Outstanding! Time to blow the lid completely off this pile of shiite.
I’ll call it Team Democratic and leave it at that.
I don’t think I’d give them 5 days to explain themselves, tho, more like 1.
Eff em indeed. What’re they going to do, arrest Rep. Cummings? They can’t coz they/re protected etc etc, so suck on it, Trey, (a disgrace to a fine baseball announcer), just suck on it.
Yes! This is how you fight back.
No quarter.
The Benghazi panel should investigate how many NATO forces were lost during the enforcement of the UN resolution over Libya. As best I can tell, a British airman was killed in a traffic accident in Italy. That was about it.
Makes for an interesting contrast with the 6000 plus killed, and 127000 plus wounded or injured, in Bush’s Iraq misadventure, which was neither sanctioned by NATO nor the UN.
It’s an important strategic lesson for anyone serious about perhaps learning a thing or two from history.
My guess is the Repubs want to mark Hillary’s testimony as CLASSIFIED so they can send it to her private email address and then claim she deleted it from her private server!
Obvs.
