The GOP wants Bernie to be the Dem nominee.
“Republicans are resorting to trickery and gimmicks in an attempt to subvert the will of the people.”
The GOP follows its bliss.
Careful, you don’t want a Sternly Worded Letter from Harry Reid.
I hear those things can give you vicious paper cuts as you tear them up while laughing hysterically.
They’re going to get more activist as they grow older. And when you’re younger, you think: ‘Where are the girls? The girls are with Bernie.’
Among supporters on comment boards like this, the really nasty vitriol is almost all one sided, coming from the Sanders supporters. That said, it’s not coming from the campaign itself; contrary to what the media is trying to whip up, both campaigns are playing it pretty mild compared to almost any other primary, including both 2008 between Clinton and Obama, and the current Republican primary.
Unfortunately, many of his supporters aren’t and don’t.
If I’m not mistaken the phrase “shameful and immoral” is an integral part of college Rethuglicans’ mission statement.
Hmm. I’ve found it to be exactly the opposite.
“There is a burning desire for new leadership”
If that were true in the way these idiots seem to mean, then there would be no reason at all for them to do what they’re planning to do.
This could all be avoided if we didn’t hold caucuses, which are stupid and undemocratic anyway. Every state should hold a primary, and they should be held the same day as Republican primaries so that voter turnout can increase for everyone, and this kind of gaming of the system is discouraged.
The fact that Republicans think Bernie will be easier to beat isn’t necessarily dispositive, because Republicans believe many odd things. But it does reflect a fact-based calculation that their attacks against Hillary are already baked into her numbers but their attacks on Bernie are most definitely not, so if they run about the same against each Republican now, he’s more likely to run worse against them once they let slip the war doggies. And the belief that that’s not a thing to worry about is a lot more like religious dogma than realism.
Eh, I think there is a fair mix from both sides. There are to many Bernie supporters that repeat stupid right-wing memes about the Clintons (of course any Bernie supporters repeating that BS is to many…), but I’m actually kind of surprised by the number of Clinton supporters that come across as angry that he’s challenging her in the primary at all.

I completely agree. A few years ago, right after they became completely irrelevant in CA, R’s were all over the state promoting open primaries. Screw that noise, if you want to choose a party’s nominee, you should be a registered party member. That goes double for independents – literally – no primary for you, why are you even surprised?
I agree about the vitriol. For a good look, check out democratic underground.com where the Bernie mob rules, right down to cheering posts about a body language ‘expert’ who calls Bernie’s smiles real and Hillary’s irrefutable proof that she’s got deep dark secrets.
Perhaps it’s because he’s a johnny-come-lately ‘Democrat’ whose allegiance to the party is limited to the political benefits he gained from his new membership?
"Rather than letting voters decide and allowing our democratic system to work, Republicans are resorting to trickery and gimmicks in an attempt to subvert the will of the people," the Reid statement Friday said.
I like Reid — But I wish he’d been saying this … every week … for the last 8 years —
I disagree with idea that Sanders will run as a spoiler if he doesn’t get the nomination, but I understand the concern given that he suggested that President Obama be primaried in 2012.
Right because it would be soooo much more helpful if he were to run third party.
Agree with your first paragraph, not so much the last line though.
