Discussion: Dems Raise $13K To Rebuild Firebombed Republican Party Office In North Carolina

Can anyone account for the whereabouts of Marinus van der Lubbe?

If the roles were reversed, can anyone imagine RWNJ’s contributing to a fund to rebuild a DNC office? Bueller? Bueller?

Fuck the Dems who are against this. I actually had the same thought as soon as I heard the news. I would like to wait until the investigation is complete before assigning blame but regardless of who is to blame they should get a helping hand. This is supposed to be a Democracy. Also… to any Republicans who try to intimidate minority voters on election day… fuck you too.

I can understand the democrats who are against this. It’s hard to reach out and help someone who is trying to injure you. But ultimately it’s not about them, it’s about us.

Alfred Naujocks is still around? That guy.

Did she also send out a tweet demanding help from Trump and the GOP? Dear gods, has Trump turned local GOP offices into the Palestinians among the Arab nation states?

SHOULD? Are you fucking kidding me? What if this fire-bombing was a false flag operation - which frankly seems to be the most likely outcome?

Don’t get me wrong, I’m pleased that David Weinberger set up a GoFundMe account for Democrats to help the NC-GOP raise money to rebuild their office. But we do that because we’re generous, not because we have any responsibility for the fire - i.e., not because we should do it.

He didn’t even make good on donating to 9/11 causes, like hell he’s going to send money for an office he didn’t know existed until yesterday in Hillsborough, NC.

Why are the the Dems always cleaning up the messes Republicans make?

And count this one down: Trump will tweet that this action proves Dem did it.
Sheeesh. We all know this is a false flag operation.

Will they get their money back when we find out they torched it themselves?

If it really were a lefty they would have spray painted ā€œFASCIST REPUBLICANSā€ instead of ā€œNAZI REPUBLICANSā€ because we know the difference.

Also, only someone personally attached to the swastika, like a klansman, would take the care to put it on an angle like that.

Not that it will be appreciated, mind you…

Totally agree. Democrats and the Clinton campaign have no obligation to house the racist, transphobic NCGOP and help them promote their support of a fascist POS for dictator. I am mystified as to why anyone would contribute to this rather then to supporting causes that stand against the damage they are trying to inflict on us.

This act of kindness ought to be an example of an attitude to be taken by leadership level citizens from across the institutional landscape of our society in order to heal this nation post election. Business, religion, education, professions, the people from all walks of life who are leaders need to in unison strive to correct the course this nation has been put on by Trump and the nefarious individuals who back him.

Thank you, that was my first thought. The Breitbart guy (Banner? the one who always looks like he’s just come off of 3 days of hookers and blow?) paid some goon to do it.

I doubt he could find Hillsborough on a map.
Or North Carolina.
I believe it is likely that he could find North America on a map.

Other Democrats criticized the effort, arguing that the state Republican party’s anti-gay legislation and history of voter discrimination against African Americans rendered it an undeserving recipient of progressive dollars.

OTHER Democrats need to be reminded that fair and informed elections are the way we decide whose programs we favor and who we want to represent us in government.

This election, I believe, will do just that. But arson and vandalism just feed the narrative of OTHER Republicans…those roughly 30 percent of Americans today who will back Trump under any circumstances…even the most vile.

Let the election move forward to November 8th and then let us see who the electorate chooses. We lose nothing by being gracious and may showing just a few opponents that we can resolve our choices through a democratic process and not through continued obstructionism.

Or – and I hate to get conspiratorial, – it could have been a Trump supporter disgusted with the elite NeverTrump establishment GOP.

It’s kinda like how Trump said he’d pay the legal fees for people who are assaulted by his supporters, or did I get that wrong?

No matter who the culprit is, the GoFundMe campaign to help rebuild the GOP headquarters is a generous gesture and most certainly no admission of guilt by Democrats. If you don’t like it, don’t give.
