The brief glow fell upon a huge sitting figure, still and solemn as the great stone kings of Argonath. The years had gnawed it, and violent hands had maimed it. Its head was gone, and in its place was set in mockery a round rough-hewn stone, rudely painted by savage hands in the likeness of a grinning face with one large red eye in the midst of its forehead. Upon its knees and mighty chair, and all about the pedestal, were idle scrawls mixed with the foul symbols that the maggot-folk of Mordor used. Suddenly, caught by the level beams, Frodo saw the old king's head: it was lying rolled away by the roadside. 'Look, Sam!' he cried, startled into speech. 'Look! The king has got a crown again!' The eyes were hollow and the carven beard was broken, but about the high stern forehead there was a coronal of silver and gold. A trailing plant with flowers like small white stars had bound itself across the brows as if in reverence for the fallen king, and in the crevices of his stony hair yellow stonecrop gleamed. 'They cannot conquer for ever!' said Frodo. And then suddenly the brief glimpse was gone.

Wow, it is almost like Democratic candidates do better when more of their base can be bothered to show up to vote.

The gun nuts must have been home polishing their pistol. With these two and Hickenlooper pulling off a win, Colorado didn’t do all bad. Gardener is a nightmare and his affect is yet to be known, we shall see.
Tell me how that story ends again -does it turn out OK?

I know I’m looking for the silver lining but I would like to think that in 6 years Gardner won’t be able to hide from the things he’s done and he’ll be toast.
MAYBE we’ll be able to remind people that you can’t trust a snake just because it’s not hissing at you as loud as the other snakes.
If you can figure out “non” voters and why they don’t show up you’re a better person than me.
2020 should be a huge election. More huge I guess than most, like this one that we just got waxed in.
Gardener already looked horrible and the whole state knew it. The Repubs will happily elect horrible rather than a Democrat that was good for the state, because they are that mean.
I hope Udall runs again.
