Someone should remind Devin:

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.

Did it refer to the state of the uniom ? Why the hell would it not have been proofread long before a final vote by the committee?
What a load of crap.

No derp, No derp. You’re the derp.
The memo changes by Nunez was the addition of the phrase “Trump Rulz!” At the end of every sentence…

So when discussing releasing the memo on Monday Jan. 29th night this was not the version that was ultimately sent to the WH. Nunes’ spokesman Langer says they only fixed the grammar, and changes wanted by the FBI and Democrats, so why wasn’t the letter fixed before the final vote? It’s not like they had the scribe sitting on the floor with a brand new clay tablet rewriting the letter. I assume that the Committee has access to the that new fangled contraption the computer? Where one can track the edits and changes made to a document, why are Regressives so committed to the old ways?

Knowing how Trump and the Republicans are masters of distraction and making mountains outta molehills, I’m going along with Kevin Drum’s belief that the memo itself is a nothingburger.

Nunes probably read it to trump at 3 am and then they agreed to the changes necessary to promote trumps fantasy.
Then trump told nunes not to worry, Ill take the heat if it gets out.
Someday soon after the excuses don’t pan out, trump should throw nunes off the cliff or under the bus.
Trump 101. small circle, same pattern over and over again.

Each day we move further away from what I understood to be the United States during the past 40 years of my life. It feels like we are reaching a point of irreparable Democracy meltdown here. Very troubling.

Nunes response:

“The Dems made me do it.”

I’m not kidding.

Yes, that’s a beauty, like Trump fired Comey because he was unfair to Hillary.

According to Schiff and the Dems, this is more than a “proofreading” question. Schiff, who was allowed to compare the two versions, characterized the changes as “material,” which in legal terms means “substantive” and not merely typographical.

The characterization of the changes as “grammar” and the like is from Nunes, who at this point is neck and neck with the Lyin’ King in terms of credibility. For example, Nunes’ spokesman refers to the changes as “grammatical fixes and two edits requested by the FBI and by the Minority themselves.” Those two categories are not the same, the latter being substantive. Moreover, assuming the FBI and the Minority demanded numerous substantive changes, for security and factual reasons, the assertion that “two edits” from that list were made, without identifying which, does nothing to detract from the fact that the “edits” were made without having the Committee review them before submission.

This is beginning to look a lot like Watergate. Back in those days, before the internet and 24-hour news, I used to listen to a CBS station at the top of each hour to hear the latest bombshell about the investigation. Last night was a doozy.

Nunes is a traitor, liar and fraud, who should be expelled from the House immediately.

" claiming that the alterations were merely attempts to fix grammar and address changes requested by the FBI and Democrats."
If that’s true then why the secrecy and not letting the whole committee see it?

As of last night, both Reuters and I believe the AP were reporting inside WH sources were saying the Nunes Memo is being released today.

I’m a firm believer in the Universal Law of Intention. Good intentions over bad ones will ultimately prevail. It may seem daunting, but this country was built on grit and determination…The Revolutionary War and the Civil War, neither of which was fought overnight. It’s not a good feeling to be in this situation, but you persevere because there are no other alternatives. You want to know what gets me through times like this? My ancestors were African slaves who endured the hulls of slave ships over the Middle Passage. They endured being and living enslaved. They persevered. If they hadn’t I wouldn’t be here. Times like this are rough, but I remind myself of those chains and slave ship hulls. They didn’t give up and I won’t either. Think back through your family history, somewhere there were ancestors who had it rough and made it through. You can do no less. Don’t let others define how you get through tough times. They don’t deserve that kind of power in your life. Peace.

Devin Nunes: “I only made changes requested by the FBI and you Democrats, and some grammatical corrections to make it all grammatically correct. So what’s the problem?”

Making it sound like the memo that will be released now has none of the problems in accuracy and material omissions of fact that the FBI and Democrats have been complaining about. It’s all fixed now and ready to be accepted as truth by all Americans.

Yeah. OK. That’s sounds reasonable. I’m totally good with that.

Yep. And the corollary is, “keep your head while everyone around you is losing theirs.”

Bee looks at it. My guess of the 4 words she uses to describe it are total fucking bull shit.

It should be considered an abuse of the FISA warrant process if Nunes isn’t being monitored.
