Eric Holder? The Attorney General who could not prosecute one damn member of the Bush administration for violating the law? The Eric Holder who could not prosecute one damn crooked banker from the crash of 2008? If Eric Holder is your hope, you are surely doomed.

There’s a lot of back story you’re not taking into account. It’s popular to call the Obama administration down the way you did by the banking industry was dug in and well fortified long before Obama came to town. I don’t doubt Holder would have loved to jail half the assholes that work on Wall Street but they’d been stocking up "get out of jail free"cards like most folks stock up on those 20% off coupons from Bed, Bath and Beyond. It would have been very difficult, if not impossible, to jail a single one of them in a legal landscape that was tailored for them over 40 years. Likely all that would come out of that attempt would be precedent. That they are not prosecutable.
There’s a lot to read on this. But don’t let your opponents win so easily. Most of the legal framework protecting the Banksters was put in place by GOP’ers. Don’t shift that onto Democrats. That’s part of the GOP plan too.

I think having the former Attorney General of the United States as a lead litigator or counsel against Trump is a brilliant idea. I don’t buy the arguments against him in this thread, for one, there would be no way to hold the bank CEO’s culpable for the garbage they pulled without throwing pretty much everyone who works on Wall Street in jail too, they were all culpable to some degree. I’m sure they could have found someone eventually, but at what Departmental cost?
And don’t think that a decision to go after the Banksters would have been Holder’s call alone, there’s just no way the AG could go after B of A and WF and Citi and all the rest and get anything done. Those decisions were why the too big to fails are too big to fail. They’re too big, and have too much money and too much impact on the economy to just start throwing lawsuits and investigations when everything Obama was trying to do was getting blocked by the goppers and the useless dems like Nelson and Lieberman (spit) and Baucus et al.
I’ll bet you anything he would have loved to have gone after them, but there just was no way. Look what happened when some pissant broker and insurer like Lehman and AIG went down. What do you think would have happened if it had been Goldman Sacks and Citi?. Nothing would have gotten done and the economy would have tanked like Trump is going to tank it, but it would have been Democrats and liberalism and fairness and compassion a fault, not capitalism and greed.
So he couldn’t prosecute when he held the highest law enforcement office in the land, but he’ll do better as a member of a private law firm contracting to a state. Yeah, sure, you betcha.
Those are totally different functions with all sorts of different requirements and actors and forces to deal with. Making it sound like a simple black and white problem isn’t realistic. His knowledge of Constitutional Law and of the workings of the Executive Branch would serve very well with helping California assert State’s Rights and block a lot of what those asses want to do.
It’s another arena to fight in, and I welcome it and him wholeheartedly.
