Citizens United is a joke. No appearance of corruption whatsoever to serve as a compelling interest to regulate corporate money as speech!

Fucking assholes. This is why we can’t get anything fixed.

It’s time to drop the legal pretense that there is any difference between donations given directly to candidates, partys, PACs, superPACs, and other groups. However, it is also time to end the tax exemptions for all political “education” organizations and to make public the books and donor lists of every advocacy group. The money will always be there, but the “darkness” doesn’t have to be.

Of course they do…BENBAMAGHAZI!!!

Wait, so Dems made ad buys’ public info more public? And tehy did so on an account that they didn’t delete as soon as it was discovered? And they still have the account up, just dormant?

Wow, exactly the same thing the GOP got caught doing! Well except that the GOP used the accounts to pass secret messages, and they closed the account and deleted the tweets as soon as the light of day hit them. Other than that exactly the same. See, both sides do it…

The source article at HuffPost has a lot more detail, and yeah, that about sums it up.

Not only that, but the Democratic one posting details of ad buys was hidden behind the confoundingly cryptic account name of “@AdBuysDetails”, while the GOP one was right up front with their account names, @brunogianelli44 and @truthtrain14.

So this one is not disowned by the party and included only publically available info. The other one, not so much. falsequiv

In other words the Dems “secret” account wasn’t actually fucking secret, because the tools need for the public to use the data were included as part of the account and the account name made clear what the information was about unlike the Republicans’ actual secret accounts. #falseequivalencyfail
