If you had lived thru the #MeToo movement for almost 2 years, would you have nominated somebody with a sexual misconduct problem? If all you had worked for, all the Trump crap you had to eat, wouldnât you make sure your candidate didnât have certain skeletons? What a monstrous self-own. They had their magical, decades long goal in sight. This was perhaps the ONLY thing that could torpedo it. THE ONLY THING.
I know people have advanced the theory that Kavanaugh was groomed and there are some very near term cases he was designed to vote for. I doubt somehow, tho, that any of the other viable candidates would have gone against the Rs on those cases anyways. So what gives? All their candidates have sex scandals and K was the best shot?
I am stunned at how this has been an arrow straight to the Râs Achilles Heel. Blasey Ford appears to be playing this JUST right and not rushing into their clutches, playing rope-a-dope and dancing just out of their reach while the media beats all this to a froth. If she had gone along with their gag-and-bag plan this could have, like so many stories, just gone off with a whimper while the latest Chump tantrums asphyxiate all other news.
The word is that McConnell warned Trump that Kavanaugh was the biggest risk on his list because of his âpaper trailâ, but I have wondered recently if this event was what he really meant. After all, he basically lied through his teeth about his past while the GOP blatantly withheld nearly all of his potentially inflammatory documents, and I think everything was on track anyway. Add to that the speed with which the âletter from 65â came out once the accusations were made public, and it looks like this was their worry from the beginning.
What amazes me is that they let Trump do this. I guess once youâve been on your knees long enough, standing up gets to be hard.
Yeah, I think if he gets charged with any of that lying or past misdeeds he can be jerked from the court?
Just caught Jennifer Mascott on PBS Newshour, she clerked for Kavanaugh and Thomas. She talked about his integrity, and how many opinions he wrote, and blah, blah, blah. All very what an clerk would say about her former boss. Why donât they get it? Itâs not about the prick that he is, itâs about the asshole he was in High School. Unless they get people that knew him in High School to talk in front of the committee about how he was then, then it doesnât count now. Reading about the prep school, his fraternity, his preference to only hire female clerks if they look like models, and his time when he clerked for Judge Alex Kozinski and the shenanigans that went on in that office have all contributed to who he is now. Man it was the mid 80s and everyone want to forget how that went.
Might as well investigate the entire Oval Trailer at the same time, and go for the bulk discountâŚ

Letâs not forget: Kâs name appeared on the list given to Trump because the Trump White House is really the Koch administration, and Kavanaugh was grown in a Koch lab to advance Koch interests. Trump picked or consented to K specifically as a hedge against Muellerâs investigation. Kavanaugh enjoys the support of the GOP because the GOP is barely clinging to life on a skimpy diet of votes from a diminishing set of backwards and unpopular subcultures that take themselves to be fighting for their lives.
Kavanaugh is a Hail Mary thrown by a coalition of dying breeds.
I really hope thatâs true. We seem to keep telling ourselves that the reactionary, radical republicans are a cornered dying animal, but like a bad Halloween movie, they keep rising the grave.
I canât argue with that. And these folks step on their dicks constantly, so wondering why they did something so stupid is a waste of our timeâŚmy fault. Just, itâs just that they only had one chink in their armor and itâs almost like he was the one with the best cover story and least # of complainants. There was no 2nd or 3rd choice Koch clone who had a clean record? I agree he was engineered for just this purposeâŚwhich makes it seem like his having this fatal flaw is like building a Death Star with an even bigger Exhaust Port after you got the last one blown up by a Hail Mary exhaust port shot.
Also Kochs and Trump donât see eye to eye. I wouldnât go so far as to say the Trump admin is really the Koch admin, but there is no doubt that most of the Republican machinery is Koch machinery and Trump has his hands on plenty of those levers.
I found this very enlightening, and why I call for a Liberal PR wing. Not a news org with journalistic standards, to fight the multigenerational assault on govt, people, truth, and the environment by the oligarchs.
