Discussion for article #247121
I think the writers need to unpack that second paragraph.
Good news. Hard to believe how solid the south is.
It seems the word “Kentucky” should be in the headline.
In the following weeks after Bagger Boy Matt Bevin won the Governor’s mansion, two Dems switched parties to become R’s and Bevin lured two representatives out of the House for higher paying jobs opening those seats for a special election.
More details:
Good. Where the Repugs have hurt us the most I think is in state and local elected positions. They started there - with school boards, which they still control and we desperately need to get control back on that level. That’s where most people are the most affected, not by the president.
Yay for Kentucky Democrats!
But college and university presidents said the cuts would force them to raise tuition and could cause the elimination of some academic programs, while K-12 advocates said the cuts would hurt public preschool options.
Some people may like Republican policies in the abstract, but very few like the reality.
Make sure that all of you do your duty and Vote in all Elections. You live in this nation so go and do your duty and if you do not then stop complaining. If you had done your duty what you disliked might never of happened.
“With 91 Republicans on the ballot this fall, and with either Bernie Sanders or Hillary Clinton on the ballot as well, we like our odds in November,” Bevin wrote on his Facebook page.
I like the odds in November too.
You’re goin’ down. Dems take over and you’re rendered powerless. Like those odds very much.
If Bevin continues down his bagger path and Trump is the nominee, I like our odds too.
I though it was just me. Re-read it to see if I skipped a line or two…
Yeah, I think the headline writer should have specified that this was a state legislature we’re talking about.
Are there literally no proofreaders or copy editors on this site?
The photo tells the tale…The elderly stand but young people are lost in their various fantasies.
This is great news.
Yes, this has been the focus of the Koch brothers all along and they have done an excellent job of promoting their special brand of tax cutting budget busting malaise at this level in the absence of any well coordinated and funded effort by the Dems. Kansas, Wisconsin now Louisiana and soon Kentucky have seen their states financial situations maimed in the process.
It would be nice if this is a bellwether for the broader picture come November.
Dare we hope?
It would help if it serves as inspiration for Democratic energy and involvement.
Let’s hope that’s it for Jack Conway. He should probably think about keeping the job he has.
Kentucky is an odd duck. Always has been.
