Discussion: Democrats Launch Attack Ad Against Nikki Haley With Six-Figure Buy

Discussion for article #225092

Don’t think we forgot about you, Nimrata…

2014: The senate might be in jeopardy, but so are several governors’ mansions.

Looking at you too Brownback, Kasich, Walker, Corbett, Scott, Deal, Snyder and LePage…

Nikki Haley is the next Michelle Rhee – painting a fraud by the numbers.

Came to my mind too, good sir.

Michelle Rhee is an especially vile and sinister person, who sadly much of the country does not know much about.

There’s so much wrong with Nikki Haley it’s impossible to know where to start.

Haley must go. Her governorship has always been about her.
I’m surprised in the first two years that she met her state’s residency
requirement she was gone so much. Just another incompetent republican.

And all those people are beatable! ALL of them! The DSCC and the DGA has to step up and start throwing some elbows, and it looks like they’re doing just that with Nikki (“Just Like Bobby”) Haley. Good!

Just another non-white Republican who wants to be the next POTUS candidate’s “new multi-racial friend” – see Rubio, see Jindal…

Its quite stunning that Brownback and Haley are vulnerable…Kansas and South Carolina going with a Democratic governor??

That republican wave is not looking quite so republican this year, is it?

Alright, time to donate some cash to the DGA. If we can’t take back the House before 2016, then we need to fight the Rs at the state level in the meantime.

Haley and Jindal have made much of their actually being white, which makes some sense from an anthropological viewpoint. But many, if not most people of South Asian ancestry consider themselves NON-white, which makes sense from a cultural viewpoint. It’s telling that being considered white, or identifying with whiteness is such an obsessive concern with many right-wingers who belong to ethnic groups that have largely been victims of European white groups.

Personally, I find such obsessions to be creepy indicators of real mental problems, along with the whole construct of racial classifications. I have always had a hard time identifying myself with “white people” and an impossible time tying my sense of self-esteem to it. That sense of value connected to belonging to a favored racial classification is at the heart of Southernism, and it ain’t healthy.

Proving that perhaps blood-red states can recognize poor governance even in their own.

I don’t know about this ad. Am I completely paranoid, or is there a bit of a problem with accusing a prominent woman politician of putting her career ahead of the kids?

I pick up a little bit of a dog whistle in this ad.

Cue the Elmers statement: The DGA can easily say they are just repeating what a GOP rep. is saying to "train / improve" GOP communication skilss.

…and if they said the exact same thing about a male politician?

PC is getting way out of hand.

Brownback and Kansas are a special case that I have discussed before. Don’t expect that to translate into Dem wins in other races.

Haley’s proposing to eliminate the state income tax, but she really ought to check with Brownback in KS to see how well that’s going. What he’s done by cutting taxes has been called “ruinous” for the state , but maybe she doesn’t read the papers. Or she knows she has to keep yelling “No taxes!” while bagging.

If they said the same thing about a male politician, there wouldn’t be thousands of years of history and hundreds of recent examples that put it in a sexist context.

Pro tip: using the term “PC” basically outs you as someone who can be ignored on any issue of race, gender, ethnicity, or gender identity.
