Discussion: Democratic Senators To Propose $1 Trillion Infrastructure Plan

Since this plan would not result in the privatization of public resources, unlike the Republican alternative, it must be no good.

Now, this is really interesting.

In his inaugural speech, the Orange Horror specifically mentioned the disintegrating infrastructure and how he was going to make it all better.

But now the DEMs have jumped the gun and proposed a package to do just that.

So, how will he and his “alternative facts” groupies weasel around to say “no” on something he promised to do, just 'cause it came from the Dems?? And what new “alternative facts” will they base their displeasure on?? 'cause you know they gotta kill it. But how to do it while not losing face…therein lies the rub.

(Good one, Schumer…)

Just a trick to make Trump look bad

Getting ahead of Dumblefuck before he can roll out his sub-plan that basically gives trillions in cash and prizes to the point-1%, who will promise (pinky-swear!) to do great things with it. Honest.

Next, they should introduce single-payer healthcare to replace Obamacare. This actually has wide public support and would be the Democrat’s alternative to any replacement plan the Republicans offer.

Not a bad idea. Pre-empt every GOP move by introducing a contrasting, better option from the left side of the aisle.

. . . as long as it doesn’t begin a process of negotiation and compromise.

Trump will likely reject it out of hand, though.

I’m sure Republicans will find a way to do so. Give them this much – they are great salespeople. They could probably sell ice cream to someone who is lactose intolerant.

I am absolutely convinced they will. But there will be much squirming and many, many new “alternate facts” generated.

True. It’s now Day 4 and no concrete replacement plan in sight.

They’ll just distract until nobody is looking and paste a new front page over the ACA, rip out the pages on contraception they don’t like and, hey, presto, new healthcare plan!!

Until they convince us of the lie that public private partnership’s are always under budget and finish early.

Public-Private “Partnerships” – the private gets the money, the public gets the debt.

Sorry, don’t like it. Throw anvils, not lifelines.

stupid and expected.
democrats under chuckie will become the party of enablers…

now that they have back stabbed the millions who marched against the pretender…it is time to boycott the party until we get new leadership.
no more cash for these frauds!

this deal they obviously cut with the pretender will allow ANY plan of his choosing under the guise of bi-partisanship!

the pretender will do as he wants getting all the credit for job “creation”…as he privatizes the nation for his billionaire cabinet/friends.

disgraceful!..and dont think for a second this is some great master plan…from chuckie…either he can stop the privatization or he cant!

there is NO REASON to give it cover.

edit…just ocurred to me that if you think this is a good idea then you must also believe the democrats should be offering ways to help repeal the ACA, too.
why not?

Good idea, but it will be DOA in the Republican Congress. What Democrats need to do, however, is not to just let it die after one press conference. Keep pushing for the plan. Keep using it as a benchmark to measure the Republican subsidize-the-rich so-called infrastructure proposals. Keep showing how the Democrats’ plans would help the nation while creating jobs. In other words, keep fighting for it.

And make the move that the Dems always seem to forget - they need to call all of the major news outlets and ask to come on the shows to announce their proposals and start “the sell”. The more people on the most networks, the better. Get on the Sunday shows, get on the evening shows, get out there in front of the 'pubs! I continue to be disappointed that most shows bring on only 'pubs and their spokesliars. Now is the time for the Dems to grab the playbook and work it!

Maybe couple it with Single-Payer and a few other common-sense ideas and offer to make a New Deal with the American people in 2018.

Sorta like those ‘platform’ thingies I keep hearing about.

But the new pissident has the solution for that - “finish early” means forced overtime and weekends, “under budget” means just don’t pay the contractors!

Isn’t that his business model?
