Sounds like sheâs been talking to some of them.
Worth repeating: "âThe way we remain powerful and strong and secure is having a president that has some idea of what is coming out of his mouth,â
I have to admit, I am at a loss for words.
Donnieâs Drumpfâs words are treason, pure and simple.
To date, I have tried really hard to be civil with Drumpf supporters that I know, but now, am really questioning whether I even want to associate with anyone who STILL supports this raving lunatic. This includes close family members.
What to do, what to doâŚ
i feel for you dude. the conditioning has been overwhelming. original thinking flew the coop many moons ago.
You study some Latin, amicus meus. A needed break from the insanity and youâll learn something!
Seriously, it boggles the mind. Time to go out to the garden and continue the war on Japanese beetles.
Interestingly, NYT is running a story about drumpfâs request to Russian to find Hillaryâs email, and in the 4,000-odd responses to the story, there is one from a guy who says Russia would likely expose her incompetence, blah blah and ends with.
Iâm a Democrat and Iâm voting trump.
There were approximately 70 responses, a record breaking number of responses (including mine) out of the 4,000 almost all saying youâre no Democrat if youâre voting for him, and then calling him out in varying degrees of ignorance.
@inlabsitrust It was more than 140 characters and had no exclamation points. Couldnât have been him.
@paulw Remember the film Dog Day Afternoon, set in sweltering NY in August during a bank robbery that went off the rails drawing a ton of press coverage, police, and fans cheering on the bank robbers. Weâre going to have a dog day quarter.
Three, More. Months.
"McCaskill said Trump was âso ill-equipped in understanding foreign policy and understanding the ramifications of his wordsâ that her GOP colleagues may struggle to support him when the rubber meets the road.
âThe way we remain powerful and strong and secure is having a president that has some idea of what is coming out of his mouth,â McCaskill said."
Amen.
That one guy was probably Trump. If he has time to tweet the shit out of every issue, he has time to get on one of his many anonymous accounts and comment on a story like this.
Maybe, a Bernie supporter unhappy with the nomination? You know one of those spoiled brats.
As always Charlie Pierce has Jeff Sessions pegged:
Steve M at No More Mister Nice Blog has an interesting item regarding a tiny boomlet among the real howler monkeys to promote Senator Jefferson Davis Beauregard Sessions as a dark horse â and I hope olâ Jeff will forgive my use of the adjective there â presidential candidate. Steve does a fine job laying out the problems with this bubbleheaded notion, the most obvious of which is that, as far as racial issues are concerned, Sessions pretty much walks on his knuckles.
The real test is will they vote against themselves and their pukey House colleagues so Madame President will actually get something done.
Voting for her donât mean jackshit if theyâre going to oppose every item on her agenda or if we donât have the votes to move legislation forward.
I just emailed my Congressional Representative and asked her the question that was suggested by Rep Lujan.
âIf you havenât stood up to Mr. Trump and the NRA (the organization, not the members), and/or wonât stand up to them, then how can I be confident that you will stand up for me, and what should I do about that?â
I have suggested to her before that if she wins this fall she should switch parties after the election, and I am hopeful that she will vote for Secretary Clinton.
Well, for those not in the family, the question is can you have any respect for them as a person if they are supporting Trump. As the years have gone by, first with W, then with the selection of Palin for VP, I have found that I cannot rid myself of the feeling that those supporters are committing treason against my country. I cannot shake it as though it were a simple difference of opinion on some policy issue, because the nominees themselves are inherently incompetent and should be rejected on that basis alone. Now weâve accelerated it to Trump, where actual sanity is questionable at best. So good luck with figuring that one out. Just avoid contact with them if possible is all I got to offer.
As for family, my republican brother and I had to agree years ago to never discuss politics if we were to maintain any relationship at all. Fortunately he is one of the more rational Rs and has no intention of voting for Trump (he supported Kasich), but is too blinded by Hillary hate to even bother to learn about her, much less vote for her. So I donât know what to tell you on the family members. I do remember asking my ex-husband (from a brief, young marriage) during the W years if he voted for him. When he said yes, it was good to know we would have gotten divorced anyway, because I could not have stayed married to anyone who could support such a buffoon. I canât even imagine the psychic damage I would incur if I had to deal with any Trump supporters in my family.
If they care about their country, and that means Trump not getting elected, then they wouldnât be keeping it a secret. Each one of their votes is a spit in the ocean. Republican senators saying to their constituents that theyâre voting for Clinton would mean something. Of course, Claire is dreaming anyway.
Nicely put. The most mind-blowing aspect to me is when you dare to ask the Drumpf supporters why they support Drumpf, the universal answer is âheâs not Hillaryâ.
Not because he is the best alternative, itâs âheâs not Hillaryâ.
WTF?
That being said, I am so fâing proud to be a democrat, just from watching the Democratic Convention.
Gabby Giffords? Boom!
What the World Needs Now? Boom!
Thatâs not law and order. Thatâs criminal intent? Boom!
The problem is, scores of million rube will vote Trump. ( I think rube is a word that should be the same singular as plural like sheep or deer)
Is it possible weâre related?
