Discussion for article #239127
So, is Sanders a registered Democrat? If not, where does he get off complaining about how they run their party?
Well, that sucks.
OK, let me understand. The DNC “runs the party”?
If the GOP has showed us anything from their last primary season it is that there is such a thing as too many debates. Six is plenty for all concerned.
party = show = debate schedule . . .
DNC = show = debate schedule.
Lot of different drivers to the “party” as a whole. DNC is only one.
I’m using “party” in the sense of “event” or “soiree.” Bernie is a guest, not a host.
This is a clear rigging of the process in Hillary’s favor. Debates are free air time. There are serious policy issues which hardly get coverage, which any serious candidate should be able to spend many days in productive discussion on. If Hillary’s not ready to do that, she’s not qualified for the presidency.
Ah, sorry. Misread–my mistake.
Yes, of course it is. However, it also has the (possibly unforeseen or insufficient) positive impact of brevity, thus avoiding gaffe-able moments for all participants (not just Hils).
Presumably there is nothing to stop the various candidates from independently debating each other, whether the whole group or select individuals, at any time/venue agreeable among themselves, though I don’t honestly see what one could expect to find out in a 7th or 8th or 20th debate that one couldn’t discover in the 6.
Really. They’re spaced out as well so as to be able to add whatever is changing on the political front into the conversation. And IMHO it is only hard core political junkies such as TPMers who will watch and the stations who broadcast know that and know their audience will be far smaller than regular programming. Think advertising bucks.
HAhA. LIBtards WOn’t BE Able tO POLLUte the AIRWavEs WITH LIBtard PRogreSSIVE POLICies like COSt REdUCED FETUS PArts, SINgle PAYer OBUMMerphones and GETting hopped UP ON marijuanA CIGarettes.
Oh gawd! I read this so quickly the first time I thought you were proposing that candidates meet on 7th or 8th Avenues in NY to have a debate. I’d buy a ticket for that.
6 debates should be enough. Ms. Clinton will get no more time than any other candidate. If Senator Sanders cannot make his point in 6 debates what will more allow?
Me too, like a Lincoln v. Douglas revival.
Sanders is not a democrat.
Six seems more than enough!
Actually, six debates with three people, seems kind of excessive.
My better half is the one who knows about the Lincoln/Douglas debates because of his keen interest in the Civil War, and he writes off today’s versions of debates as sad affairs.
