If he weren’t a fucking billionaire, would anyone be covering him at all? Here’s Andrew Yang who’s for a universal basic income. Anyone heard of him? https://www.yang2020.com/
So the poor “Democratic operatives” who have collected millions of donor dollars for the last decade despite losing most of that time are livid.
Boo hoo. Sadz.
If the ultimate Democratic nominee actually promises to deliver nice things like medicare for all and fair taxes, then Schultz doesn’t stand a chance.
And boycott Starbucks!
Fair enough, but do you think it helps having “Democratic operatives” piss and moan so publicly about some competition at the same time we’re trying to milk the narrative about a “blue wave”? Who gives a shit about how “livid” Democratic operatives are, anyway?
Roger Stone just arrived at the courthouse!
Just need to learn to separate the wheat from the chaff. Focus.
Boycott Starbucks.
Schultz isn’t CEO anymore, but he’s still the single largest shareholder.
Support your local independent coffee place instead.
Exactly - and if coupled with this new Democratic House putting in the effort to deliver those nice things among with many other progressive/liberal policies, Schultz gets his ass handed to him. But whining is counterproductive.
This has more to do with media portrayal than Dems actually “pissing and moaning.” What they’re saying is, “This is a bad idea if you want to get Trump out.” The media are hyping it to a higher level than that because that’s what they do, that’s what sells.
And expose Schultz’s past as well as his lack of knowledge or other qualifications that indicate any ability to be President. This trend (Fiorina anyone) is sort of like some of those inbred mentally unbalanced Roman Emperors. Let CNN and the Media grow a pair of balls and scrutinize Schultz.
@khyber900- I have no idea why it is Barack Obama’s responsibility to keep anyone previously employed by or associated with him on what you or I consider to be the straight and narrow.
I don’t think it helps or hurts. The people we need to get aren’t paying any damn attention to politics right now nor will they be for at least another year. The goal here is to stop this mess in it’s tracks before Schultz ever becomes a thing.
A political mercenary – a person whose only scruple is a paycheck – goes to work for someone else. Tape at eleven.
Yes, this. How much ‘extra’ money does Howie get from the 2017 tax cuts for the wealthy? How much of that will he use to finance a campaign that’s sure to protect those ‘gains’ through policies that take tax dollars from everyone else? Status quo and federal ‘balanced bugets’ don’t work for families who are investing for their personal futures, and they sure as hell don’t work for governments (just in case you haven’t been paying attention to what’s happening with the republican line of crap).
It’s not his responsibility, but given how hard he campaigned for a Democratic House in 2018, I would think he would have an interest in warning Dems against losing focus and taking the easy way out (like Burton getting paid). This is a time for national spirit, not for selfishness and greed. Pelosi had to fight this off to be Speaker when she shouldn’t have had to. I think it’s good for party leaders (and Obama is one) to periodically speak to the troops to remind them of what is at stake in 2020. Obama will certainly be asked about Burton when he does a round of interviews over the course of this year. I would hope he would have a fitting response. Having followed him closely since 2004, I personally feel that Obama would be pretty pissed off at Burton.
Howard may be rethinking this. Not sure he expected such a negative reaction.
There has been almost no positive reaction to his bullshit so why would he run in the face of so many people telling him not to? I thought that’s what exploratory committees were for although they are largely a farce.
Nate Silver said more or less the same thing yesterday. Schulz appeals much more to libertarian indies who don’t want the Dems progressive tax agenda. Stands to do more damage to Repubs. Let’s not play into the media’s “the Dems see blood in the water and immediately attack their own” narrative if we can help it.

According to a Monday CNN report, Burton defended himself by saying to beat President Donald Trump you need a “creative” and “imaginative” option.
Aside from the fact that this is not really true, this is an argument against Schultz.
It’s not about them being livid at Schultz running, but at Obama’s former deputy press secretary - someone you would think both supports Democratic policy and understands the stakes - joining up with him.
You have that much correct.
Last night was the last time a helluva lot of people went to bed.
The career moves of operatives and consultants is way too inside baseball for me to care about.
Absolutely. One actress’s influence on the Clinton campaign was far greater than the Russian disinformation campaign operating out of an office building in Saint Petersburg. That comment she made that day? devastating, sent shocks through the world.
