âDiscrimination is not in my bloodâŚâ
Plus I have lots of gay friends and once went to a gay wedding! I am just shocked that I was called out for siding with the hate mongers.
Are we good now?
âWeâre just kind of recovering from our recession, and I think this is a
bad time for us to be losing jobs. And I think everybody will have a
concern about that. This is not an issue we need to be dealing with,â he
said.
If it wasnât for the potential job loss would you still be okay with siding with the hate mongers?
I understand his regret. Some people think legislators should exercise due diligence and carefully ponder and explore the ramifications of the bills they vote on, but theyâre mistaken. What you do is cast your votes and worry about the effects of the laws later.
Some bells, you canât unring.
âThis is not an issue we need to be dealing withâŚâ
A little late for that, dipshit.
If you had any kind of a moral center, jackass, you wouldnât need a do-over.
He also acknowledged that North Carolinians are concerned about the economic impacts of the new law, as numerous companies have nixed plans to expand in the state.
"If it wasn't for the fact this is costing us money the damned freaks could be made to shit in the woods for all I care."
Fuck you, weasel?
@imkmu3 - Apparently he never read Dilbertâs âHow to build a better life by stealing office supplies.â Dogbert tells us that âone lie is always more convincing than twoâ.
Translation: A âformer studentâ didnât call me, but I DID get the internal polling numbers on my re-election campaign, and Iâm going to get fucked hard by the voters.
What really gets me about all this is how they act so surprised that there was any backlash at all, when that was the whole reason they rushed it through a special session. They KNEW theyâd be pissing people off, but figured if they did it fast enough that itâd be too late for anyone to stop it. But instead, they just painted themselves into a corner and now donât know how to get out; and then act amazed that anyone even cared about this law that supposedly changed nothing.
And had they done things the normal way, theyâd have faced a big backlash and then backed down from it, which is how the political process is supposed to work; if only to save politicians from themselves. And if the thing you want to do needs to be rushed in order to avoid being attacked, then you probably have a dumb strategy because you donât understand how this works. Itâs like conservatives are convinced that all politics is playing with fire, and so you donât need to worry about getting burned repeatedly because itâs just how things are done.
I assume Governor Dickwad told them that they could get away with it - you really canât openly kick on the homos to hard, but nobody cares about the trannies, so they can push their hate agenda for another cycle before the bill comes due.
Comically, several states will follow in NCâs footsteps, passing similar laws, and feign shock when backlash results.
I didnât know the gun was loaded, writ large.
Too bad for YOUâŚyou should have actually READ what you were voting on. This law is not only about which bathroom to useâŚbut thatâs what it was sold as. It is about legislating discrimination and you should have seen that and been against itâŚnot as a Democrat but as a human.
Too late, fuckhead.
How could you not know what youâre voting for? Iâm incredulous.
All the dems who voted for that bill are unfit to serve public office and are going to get replaced.
Help! Mr. Wizard, Help! I donât want to be a mean politician any more!
Yeah. And people in hell want ice water.
I dont believe any democrat who voted for this is honest about their voteâŚthey knew damn well what they were voting for and most likely were trying to curry favor from the wingbat brigades that pollute N Carolina.
Also known as Nacht und Nebel legislation.
