Didn’t Rosenstein already answer the question by saying that there is no reason to appoint a Special Prosecutor?
After Comey’s firing, as I recall.
Yup. As with pretty much everyone connected with Trump, Rosenstein is tarnished by his association. “If you lay down with dogs, you get up with fleas.” (Apologies to dogs everywhere.)
It’s maddening that no one in a position of power is willing to do the right thing. I’m not including Dems in this because they have no power at the present time.
If he resigns, it’s just another form of cowardice because it doesn’t change the equation. We need a special prosecutor desperately.
McConnell, Ryan, et al should keep in mind partisan advantage is temporary while history’s judgement will be harsh and permanent.
Would it be appropriate to rename Fort Leavenworth " Trump Prarie Tower" in advance of his arrival?
I mean, three stories constitute a tower in Kansas.
Trump Village?
Rosenstein threatened to quit…FALSE.
Comey asked for more funds for Russia investigation…FALSE.
No retractions…more fake news.
You’re about as false as they come @pokeyoakey . Or more likely just willfully ignorant.
Now don’t ever waste pixels replying to me again, OK?
I thought that was McConnell.
edit: whoops! I should’ve read other comments first.
Like his boss, Rosenstein can change his mind and give a different answer
If he knows what’s good for him.
And He does.
If Rosenstein were to resign, do we imagine someone better would take his place? The Trump administration is a Hydra. If you cut off a head it grows back – and just as dangerous.
The coverup by Traitor Trump changes from moment to moment.
Rosenstein should just skip the middleman and ask Putin what he should do. Nyet?
Soo, is he still threatening to resign?
LOL!
As if the 2 corporation-cock-holsters(h/t SC) you named have ever indicated they’re attuned to the same “history” that most educated people would be following.
For them, there is only the repugnican/fuxsnooze bubble!
From what I can tell (but I’m not that bright, so…), Rosenstein was happy to stab Comey in the back…
So long as Trump was the one found standing over the body with a knife in his hand.
(Nobody claws their way to the top of a bureaucracy by being devoid of personal ambition.)
The anger came only when his own complicity was exposed.
Thus shredding his carefully-crafted facade of the straight-shooter.
Now he’s in-for-a-penny, in-for-a-pound with Sauron, with nowhere else to go…
Apology accepted.
Rosenstein has already demonstrated he’s not up to either resigning or appointing an independent prosecutor. I’m hoping Durbin knows something we don’t know and is using this as a smokescreen until the cards can be properly played.
