Believe it when I see it.
Itâll be poison-pillâd and watered down to unrecognizable shit â especially in the House.
Baby steps for the babies. #Newtown
Trump is negotiating with the NRA for permission for the congress to be allowed to vote on keeping people on the no-fly list from buying assault weapons.
Youâre no doubt right, Captain. But I hope the voters make them really pay this time. And I hope it gets to a vote in the Senate.
I still see McTurtle weaseling on his end⌠heâs already talking about waiting for the Feinstein-Cornyn bill to be presentedâŚ
he needs to wait and see if the NRA likes it⌠the three day wait period only gives the FBI that much time to objectâŚ
Well, at least he claims he is.
I wouldnât trust Donald Trump if he said the sky was blue.
I disagree with your pessimism. Too many have died.
America: Where we fight over who can be allowed to have a marriage license, but donât give a s**t about who can have an assault rifle.
Truly unbelievable that universal background checks, supported by 90% of the country, including the large majority of Republicans and even NRA members, will not pass. What could demonstrate more nakedly and loathsomely that these b-stards are owned lock, stock and barrel by the gun manufacturers with the NRA serving as their bag man. Throw them out!
Post of the week.
My pessimism on this issue is born out of the fact that after Newtown, America demanded stronger gun control by something like a 4-to-1 marginâŚand the GOP fiddlefucked around and gave us âthoughts and prayersâ instead of anything tangible.
If 20 dead kids couldnât motivate the âfamily valuesâ GOP, do you think 49 dead LGBTâs will?
Yes
Too many died was a correct statement after Newtown, after Aurora, afterâŚ
So I hope it passes (as well as background check amendment) but Iâll believe that something changed only when it goes for presidentâs signature
Congress shouldnât need permission from a lobby to vote on anything. Trump is trying to posture but itâs clear who has the real power.
Murphy is in the Senate and I hope for his sake and the sake of the entire country that this is taken seriously. It âseemsâ that the voters are no longer taking the âhearts go outâ BS of those in thrall to t he NRA seriously and demanding ACTION.
If we win in the Senate, what is Nancyâs plan for the house?
I rarely cry over what I see on TV but Murphyâs closing statement the other night brought tears to my eyes.
Wait, why do they need 60? A vote has been allowed. That was part of the deal, wasnât it?
I thought the 60 was just to overcome the automatic filibuster to prevent the vote.
Even if this happensâŚhard to believe that this is a victory. Shows how far the window has moved toward insanity.
Itâll be a huge test of Paul Ryanâs political skills.
He presents himself as a down home, aw shucks, middle American boy next door type. Well, America is literally dying for this bill to pass.
If he canât get it done, then heâs either ineffectual or a radical.
