I hope the good congresswoman doesn’t back down. While the NRA does support domestic terrorism, the real scandal is that it’s merely the corrupt front for the very sleazy gun industry and has nothing to do with constitutional rights.

The NRA is a domestic right wing terrorist organization. It encourages sedition and violence. It seeks to make it easy for terrorists and the crazy to buy guns. It opposes law enforcement efforts to more easily track stolen weapons. The NRA is a loathsome group in all regards.

TPM seriously needs to caption its photos. Far and away the worst thing about an otherwise stellar site. Does anyone have a good explanation as to why a news organization doesn’t do this?

Mostly because they’re desperate. Gun ownership is at a historical low across the country even if gun sales are high. Considering the US is the last bastion for arms manufacturers they know they’re in trouble especially since they no longer have Obama as a bogey man

I recently purchased a hunting rifle for going after wild pigs (I want to put them in my smoker!). In the box in which the rifle came in was a membership application card for the NRA. I was an NRA member in my youth, when the organization was more of a hunter’s safety group and was certainly not an identifiable wing of the repube party, pre-Charlton Heston days. Today the two groups, the NRA and repube party, are indistinguishable from one another, they can go fuck themselves for their membership money, it is disturbing though how arms makers include the cards with their products, I didn’t get an application for AAA when I bought my car.
I wish the left was much much better at messaging than it is, not just in this case, but in almost all cases

For years Loesch and the folks at the NRA would complain about law enforcement when they allegedly overreached. “Ruby ridge!, Waco!” “Jack booted thugs!”
Now in this case the cops are always right because the victim was brown, complied with the officers request and might of had a bag of weed.
