Like Yarmouth is a legitimate word on HRC;s campaign Why his opinion matters is a mystery?.
Looking forward to TPM tracking down every right-leaning elected Democrat has to say about Clinton’s chances…for balance!
Baloney. During this Congress, Yarmuth sports a 90% rating from Americans for Democratic Action – better than Tammy Baldwin’s. He never stepped back from ACA even though he had to run in a competitive district. He endorsed Obama early in 2008. Not a blue dog, and not a Republican.
I’m gonna end up voting for her. But this circle-the-wagons attitude is obnoxious. Anyone who dares criticize Hillary’s email stupidity must be a Republican. That attitude is more “Republican” than anything Yarmuth has done in Congress.
That’s absolutely not true. He’s my congressman and he has one of the most liberal records in Congress. I don’t know why he’s saying these things and I hate that he’s saying them, but it’s simply wrong to describe him as a blue dog.
Bernie, as much as I support him and hope he gains support from Independents, has said the same thing-- he’s in it to win but will support the Democratic nominee if he doesn’t.
The key for Bernie is getting his supporters off their assess and into the voting booths. Immigrants are motivated and millennials are making a lot of noise, but these groups (and a good percentage of Independents) have to actually register and show up to vote for his candidacy to have a chance.
Even without Hillary’s email issues, she can’t beat Bernie!
The people are tired of the politicians in both parties who are tied to the establishment at the consequence of the middle and working class population. Look at Hillary’s college tuition plan…just another way of sending money to the banks but instead of students getting screwed, the tax payers send the bags of money. What needs to happen is the banks need to be removed from the education system in total…just like the insurance companies need to be removed from the healthcare system in total.
Jeb Bush couldn’t beat Rick Santorum or Micky Mouse…let alone any of the top 8 on the Republican clown bus.
No Bush, No Clinton!
Thanks for that. I don’t know anything about this guy, so it’s good to hear from someone who does.
Contrast this with the STUPID things the GOP front runner says every fucking DAY…and then go ahead and just muse about the dichotomy…why is one stupid so much worse than an unending series of stupid…the mind reels.
The media is being fed these lies by Trey Gowdy and the rest of the Repulithugs. The New York Times and the Washington Post are all over it due to years of Clinton-hatred. If “…the appearance of dishonesty…” was a valid reason to disqualify someone from holding office, there would be very few elected officials in this country. Can we move on to a real scandal, please? I’m tired of seeing this dead horse beaten.
Can we go with self serving asshole then?
You can use it to date us. Those of us who are doing it are showing the conditioned responses enduring the madness of the 1990s pounded into us. Most of those who aren’t were probably kids then.
He’s from Louisville and wins his elections handily even in 2010 and 2014 where other Democrats got shellacked. He is in no danger of losing his seat anytime soon. He won in '14 with 61%, in 2012 with 64% of the vote, and won in 2010 with 55%. This is not a man who is even remotely worried about being reelected in his bright blue district.
Yarmuth voted with the Democratic Party 95.3 percent of the time, which ranked 25th among the 204 House Democratic members as of July 2014.[104]
Could it? Maybe, but mostly from the misinformation and spinning of it. So far, the information that has been obtained has not been anything to right home about. One needs to assume that she is guilty based on a lack of evidence and assume nefarious intention.
Its a very common practice, because government computer equipment is notoriously out of date and not secure. Its said that Clinton’s server was far more secure that the governments. GeeDubya perfected this practice and deleted over 1 million emails pertaining to the run up to the Iraq war.
Whether it was stupid or not IS up for debate whether “Liberals” like yourself want to admit that or not.
And that brings me back to your headline: “And there’s the appearance of dishonesty, if it’s not dishonest.”
This has been the right wing knock against the Clintons for Decades. They tack one thing after another onto that in hopes that people start to think that they (in this case Hillary) are actually up to something untoward even if they are not. Its death by a thousand cuts and some “Liberals” like to help them in their quest. Why is that?
I think I confused him with someone who isn’t in Congress anymore and I should have known better because I knew that Kentucky doesn’t send Blue Dogs to Congress anymore.
I am sure he is all you say he is and know his record. I just don’t think his opinion matters much nor do I believe that this email issue is a big deal with democrats, except the squeamish ones and he appears to be one of those. I have a friend who is pretty much apolitical and I am always on his butt about voting. He does listen to NPR however so he;s not totally disconnected and he is laughing that this email issue is such a big deal. Having said that, I think more competition in our race is good. I hope Joe gets in the race.
Did the KY tip you off? It seems to be required from the Lube State.
Nice setup. Anyone who disagrees with you must be stupid but that’s not really the issue.
I assume the “us” you’re referring to is the not stupid people.
Is it disqualifying?
Not even a bad day. I completely disagree with the man on this issue, but I’ve met him several times and he’s been very kind and sincere. He’s a very honest guy and a very intelligent one. If anything, he’s a bit given to getting inside his own head and sort of rambling on. That’s the best I can chalk this one up to.
That’s because KY doesn’t send to DC any Democrats except Yarmuth. And that’s also because his district has been gerrymandered to make it a reliably, safely blue seat. Also, Yarmuth is still pretty beloved as the former owner and editor of Louisville’s free liberal, indie newspaper.
?? So if they are stupid, we should be? The primary thing that separates liberals from conservatives is intelligence. Studies definitely bear this out. So why be stupid?
And Stupid can lose the indy vote, the vote that really counts.
