Precisely. When the wealthy and landed were told they couldn’t have slaves or even segregation anymore, their response was pretty simple: “Fine, then we’ll just make you ALL our slaves/servants.” They’ve been doing a pretty good job of accomplishing it since 1964. Equal opportunity serfdom.
