Ah, the ever popular and totally obscure governor of Delaware speaks in favor Biden. Now if 300 million citizens also speak up we’d be onto something.
It seems Maureen Dowd is having some fun trolling the presidential primaries.
I’d like to know how she could report with such precision what the late Beau Biden actually said as he lay dying. Could his dad have leaked it?
Sure, he could. But would he? Say it ain’t so, Joe.
Please, Joe! Please run! I really really really don’t want another Clinton presidency. Biden is a cool dude, and you can tell he’s a real person, and yes, makes real person social blunders on occasion. But I’ll take real person social blunders over epically stupid political blunders every time.
I’m not sure why anyone still imagines the Clintons are remotely good at politics, but all evidence has shown to the contrary. They’re good at getting their name in the story. And then the story becomes about them in all the worst ways. Bill and Hillary are the opposite of Teflon, as even stupid stuff they didn’t do sticks to them and they never really get away with anything. Sure, they live to fight another day, but the wounds never heal. And so things as stupid as personal emails and Christmas card mailing lists become the Most Important Story of the Day, not because this was inevitable, but because the Clintons did all the wrong things; as usual. The Obama Admin was infamous for stomping out controversy before it can spread, while the Clintons can’t help but add fuel to flames every time they speak. Who wants this?
But Biden, that’s a guy I’d stand behind. The only time I ever joined a political campaign was to go door-to-door for Obama against Hillary in the 2008 primary, and I think I’d do that again for Joe. Nothing really sticks to that guy, because the opinion of other people just doesn’t mean anything to him. He just does what he thinks is right regardless of what his critics say, and I like that. There’s not much drama with that guy. He’s just a cool cat doing the best he can and that’s exactly what we need.
