Discussion for article #236139
Last time I checked, Texas was part of the US. How exactly does a country take over a portion of its own territory?
This won’t sway the derpbrain idiots out there one iota.
The right wing conspiracists especially those in Texas have no reason to believe this man. He’s trying to lull them into a sense of security about their homeland, er, prairie land.
There is many a Texan who’ll happy to tell you, but I don’t think you want to hear it.
The Dept. of Defense should just put this statement on their voice mail and play it on a continual loop, with elevator music in between as the message reloads…Kind of like your local utility company while you wait for a real operator. They may have to retweet it every hour on the hour until these mental midgets catch on. Or do like HuffPo…and put it in 140 pt. font on their government web page.
You saw it!!! He smiled when he said “No”. That means he was lying!!! I’m going right over to Alex Jones’ house and tell him.
Oh, that’s right. Alex refuses to answer the door.
Like the Pentagon and Wal-Mart are gonna tell you the truth. THEY’RE THE ONES WHO PLANNED IT, PEOPLE!! WHAT DO THEY TAKE US FOR, IDIOTS??
We are too, Ash!
Wal-mart wants their yummy, tummy tamales!
The Governor of Texas wouldn’t happen to own stock in the Doomsday Bunker industry by chance would he.
The fact that the Secretary of Defense has to say this is a sad, sad commentary on the state our country…well, Texas, really.
David Kurtz’s headline and “article” here at TPM: “What Would You Expect Him To Say?.. I’m not sure how much you can really credit the Secretary of Defense denying that Jade Helm is cover for a military takeover of Texas.”
Hell, when you put it like that, it looks like the Pentagon IS planning a takeover of Texas. Thanks, TPM!!
Personally, I think we should cut them off…who wants that piece of over polluted desert anyway.
It used to be these guys were on park benches feeding the pigeons and bitching about the Rockefellers.
Now they’re getting elected.
Hah. You know who does have a few dogs in this fight? Has the Chalkboard King weighed-in yet I wonder?

And I just want to add…its amazing what you can do with the ignoble and often overlooked yucca plant growing all over the Southwestern United States. You can eat it, make rope, turn it into shelter and even make a thread and needle out of its leaves. Its to die for…
You Lie!
In related news Texas House panel approves full legalization of marijuana. Those Texas crazies must be smoking some good shit.
It’s the nature of conspiracy psychology. Big element of paranoia and small element of reasoning that requires one to understand what constitutes evidence and what’s hearsay and gossip and urban legend.
These conspiracy beliefs satisfy some need in the believers, a need to believe that one is a victim of Dark Forces in one’s government, police or other institutions.
Believers rationalize anything and the absence of evidence is taken as proof of the conspiracy!
Remember the black UN helicopters? One dip shit congresswoman actually held hearings, called govn’t witnesses, etc.
That there was not ONE black helicopter in the US arsenal just meant to these morons that they were hiding them.
Can’t win.
By instituting rational governance, voting equality, data-driven decision making, and moderate law enforcement practices.
… and not screwing with the BBQ.
