Discussion for article #230622
How long before someone on Fox calls him a traitor?
I bet that decision by the governor made Dick Cheney choke on his turkey. Happy Holidays âŚDick âŚyou (insert epithet here).
Right on schedule.
âŚand all recipients are sending President Obama thank you cardsâŚ
Prediction: with the midterms out of the way, more Republican-led states will quietly approve Medicaid expansion, all while national Republicans continue grumbling about the tyranny and overreach of Obamacare.
Wyoming doesnât have the luxury of allowing their mostly poor constituents to simply be unserviced or red lined because they can deny coverage by preying upon reactionary indifference of the larger working populous that have employer sponsored insurance plans, unlike (racist?) states with larger cities and suburbs.
As with much of the false equivalency construed by the Koch led minimalists as mindful of the evils in Federal governance favoring a âminorityâ with handouts, they successfully position negative viewpoints about assistance (provide for the common good) disenfranchising people in need, say, with food stamps which disproportionally affect a majority of Anglo citizens in rural and red states. States which garner more per capita tax dollars then they ever contribute to the nation as a whole.
National Geographic has been cycling features this past year in the print version, about food and touched upon the working class areas across the spectrum of ethnicities where food stamps, food banks etc. are essential for supporting this type of need.
Yet, as with any successful gambit (following a Goebbels template?), these low turnout, church going, fear driven electorates vote the same people back into office who further disgrace the constitutional responsibility of office by shredding the social net blindly in the name of misinformed fiscal insanity.
So by example, it appears that WY simply cannot afford to play the game any longer, despite the teahaddist cabal. How soon will it be before the nihilists are calling for this governorâs head?
**And now you know how SCOTUS will rule on ACA funding.
The RW court has taken money & business and given the Left the social issues of LGBT and ObamaCare.
Sounds like mindless conspiracy but I canât stop, just like when I played the old game of pong.
I hope you are correct! But it is most unlikely here in KS, the flagship of the âdrown the government (and the people with it)â flotilla. You can see the Kochs lounging in the wheelhouse where Brownback holds the wheel steady and orders âfull steam ahead!â I rather think heâs using Detroit as a model and expects (and wants) state bankruptcy. I wonder if thereâs anything at all that will wake up the solid old-time Republicans who keep voting these guys in!
Sorry to hear about your residency in KS.
However, while I donât see Kansas being in the next wave of Medicaid expansion adopters, I would think a state bankruptcy filing would only throw Brownbackâs failed Tea Party experiment in governance into sharp relief â I donât see how the blame would fall on anyone but him, since his stateâs revenue shortfalls have already resulted in numerous downgrades by the credit agencies.
