However, if you live in the fever swamps of conservative media, La Raza San Diego is a “leftist race-driven,” (link issue) “pro-illegal immigrant,” “radical” group.
The Spectator.org link needs to be fixed, as it sends the reader back to the front page, Aside from that very small problem, this is a great article.
And then there’s the name “La Raza” itself. Breitbart pondered, “Imagine the outcry if white attorneys from Mississippi, such as this author, started a a legal association called ‘The Race’ with the stated mission to promote the interest of white, Southern communities.”
Its nice to know that 1988’s ‘boogie men’ viewpoints are now in vogue again. However Lee Atwater was a pro wrestling fan and though there’s nothing really wrong with that, the more things change…
“Ugly smear” is redundant.
When there’s trolling in action just laugh at them . So , if the Lawyers Group just laughs at Trumpy … maybe he’ll have another tantrum .
As for the attacks as a whole, go after the surrogates. Trump’s defense is based off of the idea that the ‘concerned citizens’ who now have his back, all of a sudden can’t be touched by a progressive advocacy group.
That’s frankly a load of garbage, because whether its Lord, Breibart, Gingrich, Jeff Sessions, Pierson or whoever; anyone who is stupid to defend the verbal attacks on a federal judge, clearly deserve to have their pasts re-examined.
Also Gingrich, Grassley and Sessions need to get asked again if they support the ‘Trump wall.’ After all, Trump’s ‘grievance’ is primarily based on the idea that Curiel being of Mexican descent makes him bias against Trump.
Every bit of this is right out of the Nazi playbook.
Well played, Herr Drumpf.
Which country has the baddest masked professional wrestlers on the planet? After my folks moved to Puerto Rico when I was a child, the first Spanish language TV show my little brother and I could not miss on Saturdays was the black and white show El Santo Enmascarado, a Mexican masked wrestler who wore his mask in bed, in the shower, with his suit and tie to swanky nightclubs, during his weekly post-coital cigarette, on his motorcycle, and when he was not coming back from near fatal body slams by the nasty villain tag team of the show, would every week solve murders and save damsels in distress. More creeping Mexicanism in the culture (it is an expression) of the Lee Atwaters of this world.
So, after the 2012 defeat, the GOP drafted a new plan, one that said
that they would continue to lose presidential elections if they couldn’t
significantly increase their share of the Hispanic vote.
And Trump is running as fast as he can in the opposite direction.
And Lord’s beautiful phrasing:
"participate in the left-wing agenda favored so deeply by leftist race-driven Hispanics,”
just couldn’t much more anger and alienate Hispanics if it were designed to…
Lordy, Lordy, Lordy…
A lot of this revolves around the proudly monolingual character of today’s “conservative” psychology. When I was a kid in the '50s and '60s, conservatives accepted without any question that knowing languages beyond English was a sign of being truly educated.
With the infusion of know-nothing Biblical literalists, lunatic TeaBirchers, and troglodyte racists into the ranks of the “conservative” movement, the use or even knowledge of any language other than English is now regarded with suspicion, contempt, and outright hatred.
If the organization in San Diego that Curiel belonged to was named “The San Diego Hispanic Community Attorneys Association” nobody would be raising a stink about them, but the inclusion of the words “La Raza” is enough to send the drooling Republican knuckledraggers over the edge.
These comments are biased against thin skinned sexist racist bullies.
CNN has two characters whom they pay to come to the defense of Trump. Lord and McAneney. I just can’t believe this. They also pay others to defend Hillary. So the “talking heads” have to defend a corner. Bullshit TV is alive and well.
Not always. Coming from Trump, he knows smears… wonderful smears… the best smears… the most beautiful smears…
America
This country put out the Nazi phenomenon (Fritz and Waldo Von Erich) and there was an attempt to try to get a wrestler who allegedly accepted white supremacist ideology (ironically not Dick Murdoch) who went by the name of Killer Karl Kox (no that’s not a typo).
Shouldn’t have typed that…first person that comes to mind in regards to the ‘ugly American’ persona was a guy who made a lot of money in the WWC (Puerto Rico): 'Dirty’ Dutch Mantell.
Now Mantell’s a great interview, but one shouldn’t be surprised that he (and Jerry Lawler) support Donald Trump.
Take that back, Santo was a saint.
Whereas a similar campaign against ACORN was used to advance the interests of the Republican Party — shut down an organization that only coincidentally helped the Democratic Party — this smear campaign is for the benefit of businessman Donald Trump.
Trump has no integrity, no personal honor, no loyalty whatsoever to the United States of America.
The American Association of Jewish Lawyers and Jurists (AAJLJ) –from its OWN Website—files amicus briefs in support of the death penalty which has been shown time and again to be rife with racial disparity and to often result in innocent minorities being put on death row. “AAJLJ programs address the relevance and applicability of Jewish Law to current legal issues such as human rights, national security, free speech and religious liberty.” Imagine ANY American legal organization speaking in ANY manner whatsoever about SHARIA LAW. It would be condemned no matter what it said.
The AALJL is an UNITED NATIONS NGO. And we all know about the UN and its plan to take over the USA, etc etc. (I write as an American lawyer and a proud Orthodox Jew.)
Trumpsters. You are in a deep hole. Keep digging.
Been enjoying your comments.
If Curiel was not involved in this case, or Trump was not involved in the case, or running for President, no conservative would give a moment’s thought to La Raza, even if kids wearing Make La Raza Great Again t-shirts knocked on their doors selling donuts for a fundraiser.
This has nothing to do with immigration.
Exactly. Trump isn’t trying "to find a way to back pedal out of it” This is a deliberate smear campaign aimed at destroying a decent human being who happens to be a judge that made a ruling Trump didn’t like.
