Discussion: Deaths Of Six Men Tied To Ferguson Protests Prompt Fear Of Sinister Connection

Frankly I found the comments by police to be dismissive. Maybe pretend it were young white guys from the suburbs. Would the response be the same? By police? By the media? By the community?

By shooting themselves and then torching their cars.

Two murders of people who knew one another, killed in the same manner? At the very least, it points to a connection of ‘maybe it’s the same guy’. That doesn’t mean it’s connected to the protests, but unless putting people in their cars and lighting them on fire when they get shot is the Ferguson equivalent of a Viking funeral… yeah, Mr. McGuire, that’s ‘a connection’, even if only a tenuous one.

Depends on your definition of “nefarious”. Views vary. Some consider murder nefarious, some can’t imagine what could ever be nefarious.

Riiiiiight. Should we peddle the anti-Vaxxer’s conspiracy theories just because some people react to those stories with fear, as evidence that there must be something wrong for people to react that way?

No one disputes the conditions that produce these kind of sad deaths — that doesn’t make them conspiracies, and I would expect better of TPM than to peddle these claims.

How is this any different than using made-up, non-existent conspiracies and plots to try to stoke anti-immigrant fears? I mean, George Soros is funding hordes of criminals to swarm our Southern border, right? It’s totally not true, but I guess we should give it legitimacy for the fear it reflects and causes, right? Good grief.

Does anyone know where the cop is who shot Michael Brown in the back? He can’t work in law enforcement any longer, but he may still be active in Trump’s goon squads?

St. Louis is one of the most segregated cities in the nation. Any attempts to end this by reuniting the city and county to get rid of the 88 separate governments and police departments is called unholy by the ChristianPhobic who run these corrupt and bigoted entities.

While the state GOP officials love keeping these urban areas poor and disorganized. The tyranny of the rural legislature is turning the state into a declining plantation with no prospects for anyone including the overseers.

The family’s own private autopsy supported the officer’s version of events, and contradicted the version told by witnesses. The witnesses lied.

Mr Bond, they have a saying in Chicago: “Once is happenstance. Twice is coincidence. The third time it’s enemy action.”
