I guess he’s still in critical condition because he’s just out of surgery. I hope he recovers fully and I expect he will. I’m glad he wasn’t shot in the head, like Gabby was.
And he has his party to thank for this.
Hey Kids, How about we all make a contribution to these organization’s in Mr. Scalise’s name?
Or buy him memberships?

“Rep. Scalise was critically injured and remains in critical condition.”
I sure hope he has health insurance.
That’s a great idea.
STATEMENT FROM CONGRESSWOMAN GABRIELLE GIFFORDS
“It doesn’t matter if you’re a Democrat or a Republican, nor if you’re a senator or a representative, nor a staffer or a sworn officer. If you serve the institution of Congress, you’re connected to your colleagues, current and former, by a shared sense of service to ideals far greater than yourself. This shooting is an attack on all who serve and on all who participate in our democracy.
“I am heartbroken for the pain of Congressman Scalise, the other victims, and their family, friends, and colleagues who survived. I am thankful for the great courage of the Capitol Police, who were my protectors after I was shot and became my friends. I also know the courage it takes to recover from a shooting like this, and I know Steve and everyone there this morning have such courage in great supply.
“May all Americans come together today with prayers for the survivors, love for their friends and family, and the courage to go about everyday making this country its best. Our nation is resilient, and we always come back stronger.”
His injuries will be considered a pre-existing condition. I sure hope nothing unnecessary and stupid happens that would allow insurance companies to deny coverage or make it much more expensive if one has a pre-existing condition. Nah, nobody would vote to do something like that.
Nobody deserves to be the victim of gun violence, even someone who enables it.
Even Chris Collins?
““I’m not going to live my life any differently, that’s not going to happen,” he told WBEN.In a separate interview with WKBW Wednesday morning, though, Scalise noted one significant change.“I
will be carrying when I’m out and about, which, I have to tell you, I
have not been, even though I have a carry permit at home,” he said,
referring to his permit to carry a firearm.”
That’s their answer - more guns. Who is to blame if not the legislators who have imposed this bullshit on America when a large majority of Americans keep trying to get them to be reasonable?
He might as well have shot himself as far as I’m concerned.
No worries, there are always emergency rooms…
Striking contrast with the statement by Gabby @maximus posted upthread. This horrific event reveals who each of those people is.
That’s the truth.
Hasn’t slowed them down one bit:
They will say he took one for the good guys and declare him a hero and reward him with full backing on any bill he choses to jump on. Plus send a bunch of our money to his home state for his next election. Hell he might even get a holiday named after him for his heroism of standing at second base.
Just sayin, Gop loves this stuff to work with for self promotion.
I looked up the meaning. GW says it means unstable vitals with uncertain prognosis. I think he can still be labeled stable or good after surgery.
Troll already flagged.
Flagged, Socky…
I looked up gunshot wounds to the hip. They can be incredibly serious because of all the organs in that part of the body. I thought, oh, he’ll likely be fine as long as they can stop blood loss, but I guess it can get really super serious very fast (I know all gunshot wounds are serious, but I wasn’t aware how serious this might be). I think he could still die.
*** I’m so glad that Scalise still has the health care he is so eager to deny to 24 million of his fellow Americans.***
