Discussion: David Axelrod Wishes Democrats Hadn't Criticized Bush For Golfing

Discussion for article #226765

Our main problem is that we have so many ex-staffers and confidantes, on both sides of the aisle, filling the airwaves 24/7.

David give it a break, your name is also rolling out of the mouth of Rick Perry.IMHO though the American people know who is responsible for all of this in the first place,And BTW haven’t seen Chenney and his ilk not yet anyway talking about ISIS.

My distaste for golf reminds me that I need to share with you my position on jet skis.

I hate them and I think they should be legal … everywhere … so long as it’s also legal to fire any weapon you wish at them at any time. I don’t advocate as severe a punishment for golf, however.

I’m thinking about running for governor on this platform. Please send contributions.

I always figured the more time Bush spent at the pig farm it’d give him less time to fuck shit up any worse than he did.

David doesn’t seem to realize that they’d criticize Obama if he never took a vacation, if he never played golf.

Bush deserved every bit of criticism he got.

Worst. President. Ever.

Bush lived on his “ranch”. Ike lived on the golf course.
Bush Sr lived on that lake in New England with his stupid cigarette boat.
This obsession with presidential recreation has reached a nutty stage.

Oh, Bush didn’t deserve half the criticism he got.

Nor did he get half the criticism he deserved.

David Axelrod must need these appearance fees.
Cuz there’s not another good reason he shouldn’t just zip it.

I think criticism of Bush for “clearing brush” at his Crawford ranch was entirely justified. The man was clearly posing for photo ops to give the impression that he was doing manual labor of some kind, when he was obviously just posing for photos.

After meeting President Bush at the Washington correspondents’ dinner, Stephen Colbert commented, “He has really soft hands.” You know who has soft hands? Someone who never uses them to do any work.

Just stop it. The amount of time Obama has spent away is in nowhere close to the amount of time GW Bush spent away, and you’ve now just managed to equate them, David.

YOU AREN’T HELPING. Just shut up, already. Also? Start reading sources from Texas: they’ll explain why that lawsuit isn’t sketchy, at all.

Wish in one and and spit in the other…

Lemme know which fills up faster…

The only criticism I recall of Bush’s golfing was in Fahrenheit 911 when he was queried about the lying war he started. At what other moment was this done, specifically? (A war by the way in which thousands upon thousands of Americans actually died. Were any hostages beheaded during the Bush presidency, by the way?)

I recall that Bush was criticized for taking over a year of his presidency off back at his ranch ‘to clear brush’ but not the golfing. I think his preferred sport was biking.

Gee that’s two more things that Bush did instead of being ‘on the job’ than Obama is said to do. But hey, if a Black President isn’t out there picking the cotton 24/7 he’s lazy, out of touch, and needs to be punished.

The issue wasnt the golf. It was the vacation days of which Bush took over 5 times as much as Obama

Problem is the POTUS is never out of the office so to speak. He (or she) is always connected. Always. Even on the golf course or chopping brush in Crawford, TX. Those who complain about a POTUS going on a vacation are only demonstrating their small political point scoring minds for all to see.

Cheney never went to Crawford did he?

After some searching I came up with this tid bit:
http://www.authentichistory.com/1993-2000/3-2000election/3-dispute/20001130_Bush_Cheney_Powell_at_Crawford.html

Yes Cheney did visit Crawford at least once.

I was implying that Cheney was President in reference to your previous statement, my apologies for the confusion. .

David Axelrod should have kept his big mouth shut when it came time to criticizing the indictment by the Grand Jury on Rick Perry. All Axelrod did was to give some cover for this corrupt Governor of Texas.
