Discussion: David Axelrod: 'There Hasn't Been A Major Scandal' Under Obama

Discussion for article #233344

But…but…but… #BENGHAZI! #IRS! #AGENDA21! #NO BIRTH CERTIFICATE!

Never fear… where there are no scandals, the GOP will make some up, and the MSM will show its “neutrality” by reporting on them as if they’re real.

And that in and of itself is scandalous.

Axelrod is right. It’s been shocking to see how unwilling members of the media (even those on the left) have been to accept this fact.

It will be interesting to see how the Republicans, and their mainstream enablers, pivot from trying to paint Obama as “worse than Nixon” to trying to pretend that politicians like Christie, Walker, and Jeb are just victims of partisan witch hunts.

Fool. We know the elephants are hiding in there, so of course you haven’t seen them. It’s simple Derp 101 modus ponens.

Actually, if there is going to be a real scandal, right now is about the time that one would surface…half way through the second term.

Not that I am superstitious or anything, but there is no reason to tempt the fates by calling that particular devil by name right now, Mr. Axelrod…wait two more years before making this comment.

There are media on the left?

I was at this event and that was my exact thought at the time. Don’t tempt fate.

Fox News will argue that no scandals have been uncovered because…
wait for it…
Fox News gave Obama a pass.

Then heads will explode.

Ha, well, yes. I’m just reminded of when Jon Stewart used the IRS ‘scandal’ as an excuse to question Obama’s leadership, and then just kind of dropped the whole story once the right-wing scandal mongering fell apart, you know, because of independence and both sides do it and balance and stuff.

No major - how about none -unless you count Benghazi - a made up scandal

I lost a lot of respect for Jon Stewart during that time.

The VA scandal was a real scandal

I got so mad at Jon Stewart for his mishandling of this and other Obama issues I quit watching him.

Actually not as much as one might think. The actual scandalous behavior, faking reports of how many were cared for, seems to have been limited to that one office in Arizona. But the whole VA needed to be shaken up and apparently the new head is doing that.

It will be even more hilarious 50-80 years down the line, when future Republicans try to claim “Obama would be a Republican if he were alive today,” c.f., Martin Luther King.

And it might even be true by that time; Dems and Reps have switched polarity before, more than once.

Axelrod is exactly right, and it’s about time we had a f*ing adult sitting in that office. Despite all the fake outrage conservatives generate, Obama has been exactly what this country needed after Bush Jr. ran it into the ditch and the Clinton/GOP circus (and we can keep going further back too).

The closest, I would say, was the screwed up Obamacare website. Certainly not illegal or immoral, but definitely unnecessary and demoralizing. I know it was private contractors who messed up, but, given that it was the President’s #1 domestic priority, the White House needed to be on top of it like white on rice.
