yes, as I said of Mitt Romney: A man can make a lot of money–legally–being an tacky, shameless asshole in America. And that is his choice. But it’s surreal to see that same man ask the majority of Americans to vote for him to be President of the United States, and it’s unlikely that many decent people will do so.
Um,
Here is indeed your answer, from Redstate:
“But for Wales?”
Who, pray tell, thought it was remotely a good idea to perpetrate a fraud to defend another fraud? Donzy Drumpf, apparently. That’s like someone reasoning, “I have a gasoline fire burning out of control! Wait, I know how to extinguish it, I’ll douse it with jet fuel. What could go wrong?” What, indeed.
The Red Adair method of putting out oil-well fires. What could go wrong!
Perfect.
Thanks for finding that!
From the article:
These are the three people the found, out of the 40,000 people who (allegedly) came through Trump University who could talk about their great experiences.
Notably, not one of these people is currently in the business of buying or selling real estate, or can offer any proof that Trump University made them successful in this endeavor, which is what it was designed to do.
I, too, have to wonder who’s bright idea was it to release this testimonial. Just seems like an incredibly dumb move because it draws even more attention to this issue and people will be digging up info on the three that chose to appear in it.
Horrible move by the Trump Camp.
I was a little apprehensive about this year’s election but after seeing for the past wwek or so how Trump and his campaign are acting, I’m breathing a lot easier.
A lot.
It really is Amateur Hour, isn’t it? I’ve seen middle school class president elections run more professionally.
Trump University also provided sworn statements from three additional graduates:
A Mr. Green (now deceased); a Mr. Baron (since retired); and a Mr. Miller (currently unavailable).
Their complete biographies, including copies of their affidavits, can be found here.
Yes … for normal people — Not so much for Trump —
Wait - is that actually Victoria Jackson?
Trump continues to pay these people to change their story. First former model Ms Brewer Lane, now these folks…will he be broke before election time? He’s just buying the election?
From what I’ve read people were strongly coerced to create testimonials about how great the program was and how happy they were to have done it. A cynic might say the Trump people foresaw just this situation. He’s not just a blowhard and a crazy person. He’s a God-damn crook. A cheap, chiseling bunko artist.
Also when.
How much did he pay or promise her, that’s what I want to know.
Assuming for the moment that these people actually were marks, erm, students at Trump U, it doesn’t surprise me that you would find 3 among 40,000 willing to give testimonials. And people who might actually have had success of some kind. It’s even possible that a couple of percent of students got some kind of value out of the program. That wouldn’t make it not-fraud.
But I’m really betting Stockholm Syndrome. If you’ve lost a pile of money to a scammer, it’s going to wreck your ego to admit it. So lots of people just keep believing, even after a scam becomes thoroughly obvious. (If you look at any of the folks who have been imprisoned for stealing millions of dollars from gullible rubes, you always find a hard core of defenders.)
Hope these scammers (dumb ass) are made to testify in the Drumpf trail.
While I hate to link to them, RedState is up with this:
A page from Scientologists…
They do know the press is going to track down each of these people and ask them if they still feel positive toward Trump University, don’t they? Guess the Trump campaign is pretty confident that they’re still keen on Trump U!
