Discussion for article #245081
Excellent idea, it might’ve helped his numbers.
Trevor Noah is trying to reason with John Bush the Acronym ÂżJeb?, a power-hungry, self-obsessed, small-minded, mean-spirited, ignorant and soulless man.
I dunno. It’s kinda neat seeing all those ill-gotten GOP dollars thrown down the sinkhole that is Jeb!.
Why would he help those filthy TAKERZ when he can strive for 4% of the GOP electorate instead?
If Jeb! spent $25 million to help Flint and $15 million to advertise the fact, his poll numbers - among Republicans - would be even lower.
If the US citizens whose water has been poisoned by fracking formed a coalition with the US citizens whose water has been poisoned by lead, we could have ourselves a nice little revolution in the GOP’s front yard.
This statement would be true for the entire election process, both parties. It’s a colossal waste of funds that could’ve been used to do anything at all that would’ve been more useful. I won’t blame JEB! entirely for this.
Last I heard, the prediction was a billion dollars (with a B) would be spent on campaigning for the POTUS job.
If Trevor can’t get his head around the 40 million, he can join me in finding the 1 billion prediction equally ridiculous and wasteful.
He really just needs to quietly go away He should end his campaign but not even make any announcement. No one would notice, they’d realize they hadn’t seen or heard him lately and just assume they’d missed it or more likely just not even think about him at all.
Lets have fun with numbers shall we? First off, let’s be serious, Jeb! is going to drop out if not immediately after Iowa, probably in his concession speech in NH. So all of that $40 million is going to those votes in Iowa. In 2012 there were 121,297 votes cast in the Republican primary. If Bush is currently polling at 4%, that translates to approximately 4852 votes. That means he spent $8,244 per vote! If he had done it the old fashioned way and bribed people $500 each for their vote, he could have increased his vote total by 16.5x!
Math is fun.
I would also like to take this opportunity to remind people it doesn’t matter what happens in Iowa next Monday. This time four years ago, Rick Santorum won Iowa. GOP voters in Iowa are morons.
