I believe it’s a dangling participle, not a misplaced modifier.

Edit: Lots of overlap in the definitions. But to me, a misplaced modifier is something like, “On her way home, Jan found a gold man’s watch.”

It’s ending a sentence in a preposition, something up with which we shall not put.
