Maybe the reason we hear about men being assaulted now is because there is slightly less stigma to it. A chance of justice. Or maybe, like many women who’ve been assaulted, when they see others speaking out about abuse, they will come forward.
Want to bet that a majority of the abusers didn’t enlist recently (post DADT repeal) and hold positions of authority?

David Benkof described himself as a “formerly sexually active gay man who has been celibate for more than 13 years” in an April essay. He became celibate when he “no longer really bought the supposed Jewish justifications for affirming gay sexuality.”
Oh, well that’s a much healthier attitude toward human sexuality.

I think it’s time for the Daily Caller to start demanding that Republicans reinstate DADT. Let’s get every Republican candidate on the record about their support for using legislation to push people back in the closet.

I swear all the men over at the Daily Caller are uptight closet case paranoid rich white men anyway. Benkof is an example. A gay man celibate for 13 years? He’s no longer really gay, he’s just extremely paranoid. And what’s this about he “never really bought the supposed Jewish justifications”? Does one have to “buy” something to just be who you are? That’s one very sick puppy, Benkof guy there.

Benkof doesn’t argue for the return of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, but instead tells readers not to trust the gay community.
Gotcha. Don’t reinstate DADT, but scapegoat those shifty gays for sexual assault int he military so you don’t have to actually do anything about sexual assault in the military.

This is beyond stupid. Whether against men or women, someone who would commit the horrific crime of rape is going to do so whether or not they’re out. Being out has nothing to do with a man raping another man. Being a piece of shit, however, does.

Yep. I’d be willing to bet the large majority of men who experience sexual assault in the military are gay, and their attackers are not infrequently heterosexuals who were targeting them. Before, the victim would have been the one kicked out, for outing himself.
