Discussion for article #239407
Maybe for you it turned out pretty good. The rest of the world will suffer for decades.
Defending Operation Iraqi Clusterf**k in anyway will kill him in the general election.
Good if you like creating a huge opening for al Qaida and ISIS, strengthening Iran, hundreds of thousands dead and maimed, millions displaced, Europe overrun with refugees, trillions wasted, etc. For the rest of us, not so much.
Poor Jeb? just can’t help himself. Every day that passes he puts his foot in it once again only a little deeper.
Until someone from this family apologizes for the Iraq War, there should be a law restricting everyone with the surname Bush from ever mentioning it again.
Thankfully, taking out Saddam was a nice, clean operation that had absolutely no collateral damage. And to think, Jeb is the “smart” one.
For whom? For the people of Iraq? Yeah, I’m sure they’re really happy that their country has been in the midst of chaotic, violent upheaval for more than a decade and our now under the threat of ISIS. For the people of America? Billions of dollars wasted and thousands of lives lost would say otherwise.
Well, Halliburton and other Defense contractors did post very high profits because of war. You’ve got to look on the bright side sometimes, I guess.
“Jeb!?: Taking out Saddam Hussein turned out to be a pretty good deal.”
Why, oh why, did G-d bless the Bushes with fecundity, instead of the Roosevelts?
If America must have a political dynasty, then why couldn’t it be Franklin’s, instead of Prescott’s?
(Successors of a traitor to his class, instead of a trader with the enemy?)
In addition to the death and suffering of hundreds of thousands, military and civilians, there’s the matter of several trillion dollars down the drain.
I think Jeb meant: Osama Bin Laden
**a pretty good deal. **
What in God’s name does he mean by that?
What did we gain?
Or maybe the question is, What did he gain?
Good Lord what a goober.
“For Halliburton”, he added.
Damn right it did! It only cost perhaps 500,000 Iraqis there lives, over 4k American and other allies dead, and what…$3 trillion? Heckuva job there Bush! How is it that the Bush family sees an epic cluster fuck as a net positive?
Bin Laden had nothing to do with Iraq. Right?
I am not sure Jeb knows the difference.
yep… more and more proof that El Jebe is the SMART one…
yeah, for ISIS
I didn’t think it possible that he could get any more of his feet into his mouth.
I was wrong.
This man should NEVER be elected or selected President of these United States based on his ignorant comment and analysis. Removing the Saddam upset the balance of power in the region. His father’s former cabinet members and advisors warn against it. Hell is father wasn’t a fan of removing Saddam. He had the opportunity and he declined. The calamity and destabilization we’re witnessing right now in the region (Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Libya, Yemen, and the rise of Iran) are all directly tied to his brother foolish misadventure. No Jeb: It was a colossal mistake.
