Discussion: Cummings Seeks Docs From Intel Chiefs Allegedly Pressured By Trump Over Russia Probe

Not that I’m expecting anything, but I’m pretty sure that using (or attempting to use) your office to interfere with intelligence activities you have a personal interest in would fit the definition of a High Crime.

Thank you, Congressman Cummings, for continuing to fight the good fight. Looks like we may need to rely on the CBC to have our backs and bring justice to this criminal enterprise. BTW, this is the same group, the only group, to fight on behalf of the American voters when SCOTUS voted to stop the FL recount and install W.

And on the senate side of the equation, Corey Booker has lofty ambitions but he’s now come out as supporting Jared Fucking Kushner and him maintaining his security clearance despite the mounting evidence that he intentionally perjured himself on his clearance form and engaged in espionage during the campaign and transition. Yes, the same Booker who rec’d substantial contributions from the Kushners and their family, Wall Street and, of course, Big Pharma. There is literally no one I am more determined to deny the nomination in 2020 than Corey Booker.

Remember: this is nothing more than a request from the minority Democrats. Whether the majority Republicans follows- up with a subpoena is a horse-of-a-different-color. Flynn has already ā€˜refused’ the minority request for documents. What now Republicans?

I’ll waiting for any of the democrats in either chambers to speak out about against the deliberately sabotage US alliance with all our allies, He desecrated our treaties that go back decades and he just s**** on them, he’s planning to rollback the Cuba agreement.

Excellent post, tani!

Disgraceful what this sack of shit has done to the good (or at least decent) name of America!

Only a matter of time before he’s equated with Duterte and Kim but his enablers and co-conspirators will remain silent if they think they can ram thru their destructive, self-serving agenda.

Cummings is smart and good…and perhaps he is laying the groundwork for 2018, when (if) the Dems take back the House…he’ll have everything lined up.

I am hoping but not counting on our taking control of the House…the Dems have a habit of screwing things up and the Republicans and Russians will take advantage of this… And while I am seeing a lot of interesting, good candidates, I am not seeing good strategy/support/leadership nationally…the DNC seems bogged down and ill funded. What would be smart is if they work with some of the other groups that have sprung up…not try to control them but divide up territory and support them where possible.
we are going to have to pull this off locally I think…grassroots.

So that Cummings can really do his job

It’s disheartening to see all of this…disheartening and unreal. But do not lose heart.

The way I am looking at this (Trump/NATO/allies) has shifted after Trump’s trip. He is a joke and our allies see it and are no longer being discrete about it…which is a huge relief to me. It’s a relief that Merkel and Macron and Trudeau and even May are in power…they will hold things together and will become stronger and that doesn’t bother me. It’s probably healthy for the US and for Americans who think we are better than any other country. I don’t see that our allies hate America. They dislike our leader and are marginalizing HIM, and he is temporarily in power.

I think they get it…they see the protests and many of them are cheering us on. They know that most of us are appalled and traumatized by his behavior. All of these countries also have the extreme right wing elements in their countries too…we are a cautionary tale for them…this is what happens when you become complacent and don’t acknowledge or plan for what could go wrong. And when other countries meddle in your elections.

This is a huge test of our democracy…part of our checks and balances seem to be failing in Washington (AND locally on state levels)…the corruption and greed is disgusting, and we’ll see if we can organize enough to get rid of some of the people who are creating a buffer for Trump…there is a rot in Washington and we have to clean it up or else the experiment of democracy will be over.

I believe that there will come a point when some corporations and wealthy donors will start to lose money or see Trump as a threat to them economically and the dominoes will start to fall. And that the various ā€œunderclassā€ groups that are currently pitted against each other will start to see what they have in common as Trump’s policies screw them…Good people in government and security are starting to rebel…and journalists are covering it…we are getting closer to the ā€œEnoughā€ point. It’s going to be even more uncomfortable, and maybe it sucks for us to be marginalized globally or taken down a few pegs, but w/ Trump as our leader, it’s deserved…It sucks but thank God they are marginalizing him. Once we have a new president (and this is likely not until 2020) , we’ll have a lot of cleanup work to do and amends to make…but I think we’ll be welcomed back. Our time as top dog may be over but we’ll be a player again…

Try not to let all of this distract or depress you…it gets overwhelming at times. I don’t know why I have hope, but I do. I love how Macron has been handling himself…and I love Merkel. It’s good that Rouhani won. And I feel like we have some good elected officials and some good bureaucrats…it’s not all rotten. People are fighting. And our press is doing its job. It’s not over yet. Know hope.
