Using a person of color as a prop is racist. End of story. Meadows didn’t need to bring Patton to the hearing to make his point.
Boy these goopers are easily triggered.
Elijah Cummings is no Devin Nunes, I’ll tell you that.
Thank FSM…
Yes, call Republicans out on their racist behavior…it points out how structurally the entire episode was racist, even if Meadows didn’t mean for it to be. And Meadow’s screeching after being called out tells you all you need to know about how sensitive he, and most Republicans, are about the matter…they really don’t want to confront how their behavior is seen by people of color.
Well…it WAS racist. When it happened, Meadows acted like he won the lottery, because he then had something to cry “victim” on (a GOP pastime). He had been doing permutations of victiming the entire day anyway. Indignation is an art form for some people
When the dust settles, Trump is still fucked.
Say what?! Mark Meadows is one of Cummings best friends?!?!
“Meadows pointed out that “My nieces and nephews are people of color,” but, before long, he seemed to accuse Tlaib of making a racist comment herself.”

A couple of them were almost Lindsey-esque, including Jungle Gym, Saint Meadows, and the knuckle-dragger sheriff from Louisana.
I’m still impressed with Amash. Only semi-sane one on that side.
There’s nothing wrong with that.
I think Rep. Talib got it right the first time.
Meadows said earlier Wednesday, “She says that as a daughter of a man born in Birmingham, Alabama, that there is no way that she would work for an individual who was racist.”
People of color have been working for racists in America since before the Revolution.
And he saw “The Green Book”, too…
"Patton, Meadows added, is “the President’s own person. She’s a family member… she loves this family. She came in because she felt like the President was getting falsely accused
The last one? or the one that’s coming?
Between this hearing and his exposure of the corrupt and dangerous Middle East nuclear deal, we will be telling our grandchildren stories about how Elijah Cummings saved the world and saved America’s soul. A giant among us.
So was that a catch-and-kill, too?
Racist. And incredibly lame.
Also, apart from the racist undertone, saying that the President is not a racist because he has a person of color working for him makes as much sense as saying that he is not a serial liar because, one time in the past, he told the truth.
I disagree that she’s a “racist prop”. It was Meadows making the idiot argument that Trump can’t be racist because he has a black friend (or appointee). That act in itself is stupid and racially clod-headed but “racist” seems extreme because of the connotations of that term. (Meadows may in fact be completely racist and he’s certainly an enabler of racists; that’s a different point.)
