Discussion: Cummings Blasts White House, HHS For Stonewalling Probe Into Air Travel

They might as well have just submitted pages of black construction paper. Save on all the black ink used.

This looks more like malfeasance than incompetence, but it could be a mix of both.

One wonders why Cummings even bothers. The Trump administration has routinely stonewalled any and all requests for documentation of their activities, stopped issuing WH visitor logs, and refusing to supply requested documents and essentially daring Congress (essentially Democrats who are initiating these requests) to do something about it. The Dems are powerless without support from the Republicans and THEY are part of the stonewalling. If Congress cannot perform its oversight duties (and under the Republicans oversight has become essentially witchhunting Democrats) then we are in big trouble.

GOP intransigence and support of Trump efforts to stonewall committee investigations into his activities have brought the work of House and Senate Intelligence and Judiciary committees to a standstill, led in part by weasels like Devin Nunes and veteran Senator Chuck Grassley. Sick

Sometimes you make requests, knowing that they are going to get stonewalled, in order to get the stonewalling on the record.

You know, for the prosecution.

Because to stop bothering = complicit normalizing. Better to have documentation and records of the stonewalling.

Vote the GOPers out in 2018!

Just think of this as evidence of Airplanegate. (Someone already swiped Travelgate, so what are you going to do)

And you won’t receive any response until you charge them with obstruction (or whatever would be the appropriate charge) for withholding information.

This is the Trump administration. They think congressional oversight is an irritation and a joke, and that you can’t do anything to them anyway, so why bother responding?

Send them a subpoena and charge them when they don’t respond.

And charge them for making you send a subpoena, and I don’t mean in an obstruction of justice sort of way, I mean figure out the cost of them failing to comply and send them a bill. We can recoup some golf course security expenses.
