Cool!

Eventually that embargo is going to end and whatever is good about Cuba now is going to get ruined.

The car labeled as a 1955 Pontiac is actually an Oldsmobile, and the yellow Buick above it is a 1959.

One of em looks like Christine.

Well let’s see
we had the eh Fairlane
then the u-joints went out on that
and the bushings
and then your mother wanted
to trade it in on the Toronado
so we got the Toronado
god I hated the color of that son of a bitch
the dog destroyed the upholstery
on the Ford
boy that was long before you were born
we called it the yellowbird
two-door three on the tree
tight little mother
threw a rod
sold it to Jacobs
for a hundred dollars

now the special eh
four-holer
you’ve never seen body panels
line up like that
overhead cam
dual exhaust
you know I had
let’s see I had
four Buicks
loved 'em all

now your Uncle Emmet
well he drives a Thunderbird
it used to belong to your Aunt Evelyn
well she ruined it
drove it to Indiana
with no gear oil
that was the end of that
sold that Cadillac to your mom
your mom loved that Caddy
independent rear suspension
landau top
good tires
gas hog
I swear it had the power
to repair itself

I loved the Olds
Dan Steele used to give 'em to me at a discount
showroom models and that
and then there was the Pontiac and
god I loved that Pontiac
Well it was kind of an oxblood god
but It handled so beautifully
yeah I miss that car
well that was a long time ago
a long time ago

Just imagination and ingenuity on display folks. You think American car makers really want people to see what maintaining a car really means ? Mechanics 2.0.BRAVO !!!

That’s exactly what I was going to say. Good thing I read the comments first.
Nice rims on the Buick taxi.

Cuban here.

It is not because the embargo that those cars are kept for so many years. In fact, Cuba has been importing cars from Europe, Latin American and Asia for decades.

It is because the Cuban government forbade his citizens from buying cars until about a year ago, and it 1) kept the monopoly of importation and 2) set astronomic prices for them

Right --if you are a clueless, spoiled Western tourist that doesn’t have to deal with the transportation problems Cubans do.

You really don’t have a clue what life is like in Cuba, do you?

MADE IN AMERICA…those were the days my friends and we thought they’d never end… When someone says OH, they weren’t all that…I SAY O, YES, THEY WERE…,

They call them “Yank Tanks”…and the USA could drop the embargo tomorrow ( and we should ) but the Cuban’s will keep those cars and revere them.

The “Classic Car” era ended in 1948 so none of these are classics. They are collectable “Pops”.

Its not hard to go to Cuba…Ive been a few times but if you want to see this stuff in an easier place to go try the beaches of Northern Peru. They have old American cars all over the place up there…beautiful to see.

Your position is that there is nothing good in Cuba right now?

Your point is…??
