But it is precisely the unregulated sales from straw purchasers who buy guns legally and who sell to friends, relatives and strangers who are criminals who can’t buy legally that is a major part of the guns that are traced to crime scenes. Hence the secondary market is a billions of dollars cash cow the NRA leadership and munitions industry want to protect at all costs, even if it means lives lost. Not to regulate this market is perhaps the greatest domestic dereliction of congressional duty of our time.
