Discussion: Cruz Says He's 'Troubled' By Trump Asking For Pledges At His Rallies

I began today on my knees only because our Lab, who usually takes up just the middle of the bed had encroached on my side in the night leaving me with a foot of bed to lie on… until I turned in the wrong direction. I think I even made some “prayerful” exclamation that invoked “Jebus” and/or someone in the Jebus family.

OT - How is the new season of House of Cards? Is it as bad as last season? The first season was great. The second season was dark and depressing, a real downer. Got through half of Grace and Frankie and quit. Too silly. Plus they could have hired real gay men to play those parts. How hard would that have been?

I dont see why Cruz would care. The GOP asks its members to take pledges all the time.

Although I consistently do not agree with Cruz, I have to point out that I do agree with him about Trump’s pledges at his rallies. It is very troubling for me to witness low educated voters being purposely mislead. I am certainly glad that Cruz has raised this point, because the media just reported it and kept going on as if the scene was no big deal. Another issue the I have issue with media is not correcting Trump when he complains about “Bernie’s” supporters crashing and infringing on “Trump’s” First Amendment Rights To Free Speech!

Excuse me, the last I knew, Donald J Trump is not an elected official and thus he is not a “governing body” and thus he can’t forbid protesters from attending his public events. For if he wants to speak to his supporters in an uninterrupted proof setting, perhaps he should do what GWB did…have CLOSED EVENTS instead…in other words, sponsor your own damn private events Donald to protect your first amendment rights.

I watched Cruz on Meet the Press today, and he said Obama is a demagogue. “If Hillary is elected we will lose the first and second amendments,” Cruz said. I guess there are no mirrors in Ted’s house.

Others have already noted the astounding lack of self-awareness - here Cruz himself touts his own “pledge” to the fringe group ATR:

In other words, Cruz is “troubled” because he didn’t think of it first.

Trump typically asks his audience members to raise his right hands

Just how many right hands does Donnie Drumpfo have?

Thought balloon above crooze------Wish I’d thought of it first.

@sangsue

I read your comment after I posted mine…

Didn’t C-Section Born Crud claim to be the Face of the God we All Love?

Didn’t the Republican elite ask the candidates to sign a loyalty pledge?

So, Cruz is actually upset that the donaldo didn’t do his pledges in Spanish, and so is Rupio! And Trumpty-Dumpty’s supporters are very, very disappointed that he didn’t get the pledges in German, and any self-respecting Nazi would do!

Ohhh, Teddy…Everything about YOU troubles me.

What an idiot. How else does Cruz expect Trump to self-fund his campaign?

Ted Cruz has no business running for president — he’s a right-wing nut.

Oh wait, Donald Trump has no business running for president — he’s a nut.

That’s the choice offered by the Republicans these days. We either get the guy with the chainsaw and the crazy face, or we get the guy with the smug grin holding his debate medals. the horror, the horror…

When Ted Cruz begins to sound like a Democrat, you know how far right Trump and his Brownshirts are. And Cruz is a man who only renounced his Canadian citizenship less than 16 months ago.

“This is America. We don’t pledge allegiance to a man. We pledge allegiance to a flag.”

… says the ChristoFacist who pledges allegiance to the cross…

If I were Threat McCruz, I would not announce that I was troubled on national tv.

I am troubled that Rafael Cruz Sr raised Little Ted to believe he was annointed by God to lead the United States. That is just as bad, maybe even worse.
