Lots of Christian charity there from an avowed Christian who also happens to be an immigrant. “What would Jesus do? He’d spit in the faces of those Trojan Horse terrorist-wannabees, and I know this because I’ve got Jesus on speed-dial and we chill every night.” Ted Cruz is walking embodiment of the proudly ignorant, selfish hypocrisy that the GOP has not only adopted but actively encourages in their fearful followers.

That said, this is a very vexing and politically perilous situation. There are no good options here for the good guys.

With all due respect, we are not France. Our immigrant tradition in this country is much stronger than France’s. As much as the republicans wish or claim, our immigrants assimilate into our culture far, far better than most other European countries. We respect religious freedom and allow people to practice their faith how they choose. All of these are factors that suggest that accepting Syrian refugees, regardless of their religion, will be just fine.

What I don’t get is how a party that always wants to start a war is full of such pearl clutching whiners. They don’t want any action when there are mass shootings in our borders, even when they’re terrorist acts like Dylan Roof.
