Discussion: Cruz: Censuring Charlie Hebdo Cartoons 'Inconsistent' With 'Free Debate'

Discussion for article #231745

I am sure Mr. Cruz is referring to the cartoons depicting Mohammed. I wonder if his opinion would change if it were a cartoon of Jesus doing something nasty? This Princeton and Harvard educated guy is sure a dunce.

Allowing Mr Turb Cruz to speak in public is inconsistent with Democracy and Freedom.

While it IS consistent with DemoCRAZY & FreeDumb.

How true!

First, the 1st Amendment has nothing to say about a private organization choosing to publish or not publish any given material. It’s about government telling the organization what to publish. It is exhausting to read so often about a politician knowingly blurring this fact.

Second, if Sen. Cruz feels that strongly, perhaps he should post the photos on his personal website.

Censoring or censuring?

Dude just wants as many fingers being poked into peoples’ eyes as possible in hopes more terrorist attacks can take place, preferably on our soil so he can blame them on Obama.

Hmm. Ted seems to have had a petite epiphany.

Also too, it appears someone has such a poor understanding of the First Amendment that he doesn’t recognize that the freedom of speech includes the right to decide not only when to speak and what to say, but also he right to remain silent.

Which makes perfect sense, because he clearly doesn’t know when to shut the fuck up.

STFU, TED!

You’re too f’ing shallow to comprehend any of this.

I know, let Senator Cruz post them on his facebook page or personal blog since he feels so strongly about things.

That’s good. Still:

Disallow Ku Klux Klan from participating in Adopt-A-Highway

The Declaration of Independence states that “all men are created equal.”
Ted Cruz has worked to ensure that groups that spout hatred and bigotry
are not provided privileges that encourage their venomous beliefs.Cruz
authored a US Supreme
Court amicus brief on behalf of 10 states in Rahn v. Robb, urging the
Supreme Court to grant certiorari and reverse a decision of the Eight
Circuit allowing the Ku Klux Klan to participate in Kansas’s
“Adopt-A-Highway” program.

So, curious how far his free speech bona fides go

I agree with Rafael, but suspect he would change his tune about cartoons that depict Christ or Christians in a disrespectful manner, lest he lose his fundie base. That is, I suspect he is a flaming hypocrite.
