Discussion: Crowley Grills Susan Rice On Prisoner Swap: 'Did The US Negotiate With Terrorists?' (VIDEO)

Yes yvonneeo thank you. Send it everywhere

On a purely superficial level, I also wonder if the Republicans would’ve been more accepting of the release if his parents looked a little more like your traditional military family? Dad sported a big bushy beard and ponytail, while Mom looked quite nice in her tight dress. What would the reaction have been if they were both a little older, overweight, speaking with a Southern accent (in other words, the Fox News demographic)?

I’m not trying to insult military families here. I’m simply pointing out that these parents aren’t the traditional model when you think military family.

Whenever a host cannot understand the answer they were given by a guest or doesn’t like it because it doesn’t conform with the Republican talking points they were given in advance to ask a representative of a Democratic Administration they become as transparent as Candy Crowley was. If you saw her later interviews with a panel of three that included Republican Rep. Mike Rogers, you could see all the soft soap she used with them! These Republican-loving Sunday morning talkers are creating another false narrative to help them out, given an election year and all!

It’s funny reading the complaints about the Corporate Media taking their talking points from the GOP. It would be easy to stop, Dems simply need to give the media the same level of controversy. The GOP are masters at this, Democrats feel it’s beneath them. The media follows the feeding frenzy which the GOP provides by making inflammatory statements. Had Democrats had the balls to say 'The Republican Party has Ambassador Steven’s blood on their hands from their blockage of embassy security funding!", the media would have perhaps led with that charge, and spent the last 6 months asking Rethugs why they voted against increased embassy funding. If Democrats now would couch this in terms of the GOP’s abandonment of a serviceman, they would easily win this news cycle. They won’t of course, prepare yourself to see lots of backtracking, hemming and hawing and semi apologies. WE WILL NOT ALLOW THE REPUBLICANS TO ABANDON OUR BRAVE FIGHTING MEN AND WOMEN! Repeat ad nauseum, watch the media start asking Republicans ‘are you really willing to abandon our POWs?’. Sigh…never gonna happen though, Democrats are pussies and slap fighters, bringers of knives to gun fights.

The Taliban WAS THE GOVERNMENT of Afghanistan before we took them out, so NO CANDY we did NOT negotiate with terroists and PLEASE stop being an idiot!!!

If its Sunday…its more bullshit times five.

On the list of purely political gasbags to bloviate their opinions, DailyKos has the rundown of all who are invited on a weekly basis. This week the list is the same as it ever was…

  1. Meet The Press: Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel; Former NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg (I); Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL); Paul Rieckhoff (Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America); Roundtable: Chuck Todd (NBC News), Rana Forhoohar (TIME), Former Rep. Jane Harman (D-CA) and Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-GA).

  2. Face The Nation: Sen. John McCain (R-AZ); Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT); Robert Wallace (VFW); Former CIA/NSA Director Gen. Michael Hayden; Roundtable: David Ignatiu (Washington Post), David E. Sanger (New York Times), Leigh Gallagher (Fortune) and Nancy Cordes (CBS News).

  3. This Week: National Security Adviser Susan Rice; Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX); Roundtable: Bill Kristol (Weekly Standard), Tavis Smiley (PBS), David Remnick (The New Yorker) and Peggy Noonan (Wall Street Journal).

  4. Fox News Sunday: RNC Chairman Reince Priebus; Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO); Rep. Jeff Miller (R-FL); VA Hospital Whistleblower Dr. Sam Foote; Roundtable: Radio Host Laura Ingraham, Sociopath Liz Cheney, Bob Woodward (Washington Post) and Former Sen. Evan Bayh (D-IL).

  5. State of the Union: National Security Adviser Susan Rice; Rep. Mike Rogers (R-MI); Former National Security Adviser Gen. Jim Jones (Ret.); Former U.S. Ambassador Nicholas Burns; Former Sen. Jim Webb (D-VA); Neera Tanden (Center for American Progress); Republican Pollster Kristen Soltis Anderson.

As can be seen…the bulk of the invitees are not only the usual suspects, they are either the same rightwing nutjobs, blue dog dems past and present, “both-sides do it, but dems are worse at it” newsies, or independents/no one listens to anymore. Only Bernie Sanders and the woman from the Center for American Progress could possibly get me to tune in, but with all the intentional lop-sidedness of choices on the dais on ALL of these shows, I refuse to tune in at all anymore.

Bergdahlzi!!

  1. The idea of the terrorist was created to get around current rules of war.
  2. Candy was trying to play to the right so they don’t bash her again after the debate thing.

I am a Vietnam Era Veteran and frankly I am glad this guy is being brought home. I am offended by Crowley’s words because we have always talked with the opposition at least through other nations. As for congress I have my doubts they would have acted since their track record is ineptness on the worse level ever. The Republicans don’t seem to care about the veterans and if this guy is as unhealthy as it appears, he will be a veteran and as the GOP sees it, another damn veteran we will have to spend money on that is no longer worth sending to a war we don’t need anyway. Gitmo has few high valued prisoners and should have been closed long ago and would have been if the GOP hadn’t blocked it. As a veteran I say as long as the GOP is the way they are, please young people find another way to serve because if the GOP doesn’t kill you, they will make you wish you were dead.

Nope. She’s following the path of least resistance to achieving the most controversial sound bite possible. The GOP provides that for her. Dems just sit there like pinatas taking a beating, but maintaining the high road…for whatever value that holds.

Don’t you mean how St. Ronnie the Fraud negotiated with the “terrorists” to keep the hostages until after the election?

F*k, the GOP, conservatives, whoever. If it had come out later that Obama had had a chance to free Bergdahl and hadn’t, the repubs would have screamed about leaving an American soldier to the terrorists. And interviewed his weeping parents on Hannity.

Now, they can complain about “negotiating” with Al Quaeda. Screw 'em. Their hypocrisy and cruelty gives me heartburn.

I was thinking it would be far easier to infect these 5 with an undetectable terminal disease or fatal poison of some sort.

Evan Bayh, was senator for Indiana. Total blue dog. Please don’t give him to Illinois.

Not all Muslims are terrorists, and not all terrorists are Muslims.

The Taliban was the reigning (albeit tyrannical, Islamic extremist) government when we invaded Afghanistan.
To call them “terrorists” is a over-simplification of the political dynamic in that country – but it gets right wing minions all worked up and shaking their fists at Obama, so what the hell, eh?

Good point…I see they got that wrong too now.

Since 2003, when those that objected to the Iraq war, or any Bush initiative, were publicly called traitors by the RW.

So, Republicans favor captivity for American soldiers, and welfare for terrorists. Unbelievable.

Yes, yes…that’s it! Simply explain this nuance…that’ll solve it!

Liberal media… They always cover up for Obama… So liberal… They were playing with themselves when Cheney invaded Iraq…
