Discussion: Creationist Theme Park To Sue Kentucky For Its Right To Discriminate

Discussion for article #232853

Why don’t they just ask Jeebus to restore their tax breaks? The faithful often seem to be exceedingly unwilling to trust their savior, and resort to the secular courts instead.

If they want to discriminate based on religion, perhaps they should move their park outside the U.S. to Saudi Arabia. They seem to forget that in the United States, law trumps religion. That’s a feature of our constitution, not a bug.

pretty clear that the real god being worshipped here is the dollar… maybe they could look up how much the government subsidized Noah when he built his Ark…

will the price of admission include a 30 day and night rain check policy?

“This is the latest example of increasing government hostility towards religion in America”

Next, you evil hostile-to-reality government-teat-sucking charlatans need to start paying some income tax.

I really can’t express how much I want this to be built. It will give me a reason to visit Kentucky.

“However, the state was so insistent on treating our religious entity as a second-class citizen that we were simply left with no alternative but to proceed to court. This is the latest example of increasing government hostility towards religion in America, and it’s certainly among the most blatant.”

Because how can anyone be a first class citizen if they’re not allowed to treat others as second class citizens? If we have to treat everyone the same, it can only lead to a world where there are no classes of citizenship, just citizens and non-citizens.

…to insist that we can use taxpayers’ dollars to treat people who do not share our beliefs as third-class citizens."

There. Fixed it.

Why are states giving tax breaks to unprofitable, privately-owned businesses to start up - like venture capitalist finds? What happened to using our precious tax dollars to improve our state-owned infrastructure??

Show me in the Bible where it says that YOU get to take Government subsidies to build your MONEY MAKING THEME PARK because Jesus.

The park was projected to cost $73 million

That might sound like a lot but, after adjusting for inflation, it’s only two goat skins and a bag of millet in 4,000 BC dollars.

Wow, it’s a big conceptual leap from “render unto Caesar,” to suing the state for special tax privileges with a particularly flagrant and galling sense of entitlement.

Like that Golden Calf found in their special book… or even a newer episode that of the money changes in the Temple…

I’m sure the bourbon will improve the experience of Ark Encounter.

So…in effect they are saying they are being discriminated against for the inability to discriminate?
