This doesn’t seem to be Scooter’s year, does it?

This won’t survive the state supreme court.

Wisconsin Attorney General Brad Schimel promised to appeal the order, saying: “We are confident the law will be upheld on appeal.”

Well one would think so given all the effort you assholes put into rigging the Wisconsin Supreme Court. Speaking of assholes and the Wisconsin Supreme Court, Prosser try and choke out any more of his female colleagues recently?

The groups argued that the law was an unconstitutional seizure of union property because it required unions to extend benefits to workers who don’t pay dues.

Now that’s a novel way of looking at it. Would never have thought of that.

Wow. That’s big. I thought someone already challenged this law a long time ago in court and it was a done deal. Maybe there’s hope for Michigan…except I think they did some funny business when they changed us to a Right To Work state and its more difficult to reverse. I’ll look it up later…

This man is the enemy. Sucks that he’s probably going to be president one day.

That dumbfounded look. So fitting.

This will run into problems in the state SC, just because that has become completely politicized and rules based on what benefits the Republican party and not WI. However, the recent USSC labor decision speaks to this, so there is a fair chance that the federal courts will overturn this based on that decision (I expect this to go to federal court eventually). It would be better if WI kicked the corrupt Republicans out and got their government back…

“[A]n unconstitutional seizure of union property because it required unions to extend benefits to workers who don’t pay dues.”

Kind of like requiring the United States to extend benefits to corporations who don’t pay taxes.

And to ranchers who don’t pay grazing fees.

Or to tax-exempt megachurches.

Highly doubt it. The time for Walker to have made a credible run for the presidency was now and he blew it. Even the angriest, most rabidly stupid, hellbent on destruction GOP base of today wasn’t buying what he’s selling. The best he can hope for is to keep running for governor during midterm elections where turnout is very low and Democrats don’t have enough sense to go vote, or are too high minded to vote for him to be recalled.

How does the state to federal appeal process work? I’ve honestly never quite understood how a state case goes federal.

Speaker Robin Vos, R-Rochester, said in a statement. “No one should be forced to join a union or pay union dues as a condition of employment.”

Speaker Robin Vos, R-Rochester, I agree with you, however, no one should benefit from the union negotiation etc without supporting said union. That pure and simple is theft and it is the same as someone walking into your garage and taking your lawnmower and garden tools for personal use. They did not pay for them but are reaping the benefits.

I sure hope you’re right, plucky.
Walker has proven he can win in a swing state even after attacking workers’ rights. He’s one of the most successful sitting repub governors at getting his agenda enacted.

With Walker’s stooge about to be “elected” through fraudulent means, to the state’s high court, of course the republicans are confident this will be reversed.

I live in a “right to work” state. Which means employers have a “right to fire you” any time they like.

He wins because he cheats and his party is well organized there.

I have to hope that even republican voters there will get fed up eventually.
