I am not so sure that Trump will fire Comey out of hand…after all, he proved his worthiness to the “cause” with this stunt, as well as exposed how easily manipulated he is by his own agents.
But…it is definitely a possibility. And that is just one of the reason I don’t get Josh’s take on this. Obama should fire his ass pronto…should have fired him the day after the election, IMO.
The bigger issue I have though, is why people like Josh still go on about what solid guy Comey is. There is nothing in his history to point to that…not one damn thing. They love to parade around that he “defied” the Bushies while Ashcroft was in the hospital…but nothing of the sort happened. They came to Comey with a plan that he knew wouldn’t past muster, and that he knew would make him the fall guy when it was exposed. So he said no, I won’t be your patsey. And then ran to the hospital to cover his ass with Ashcroft.
Which is pretty typical of Comey’s entire career…he covers his ass, and only cares about rules and laws in that they can catch him. He clearly has a deep seated hatred for the Clintons, but even in this scenario…he was merely covering his ass on all fronts. And perhaps most troubling of all, the man cannot run the Bureau. His agents are running roughshod over him, and he meekly complied.
And for the love of this earth…do we really need more evidence on why its a completely stupid idea for Democrats to appoint republicans?? Because I guarantee if there is a Democratic FBI Director in there…none of this happens, nor is there any pushback on the Russian spying.
Not disagreeing with your analysis of Comey, but if Obama fires him, then Trump will name his replacement and, as we all know by now, if you don’t think that Trump could name someone worse, you’re about to be proven wrong.
Stood by watching her being destroyed, while filling the entire front page with related stories to help with the mission.
And what is stopping Trump from firing him anyway and naming a worse replacement? Yes, its a 10 year gig, but its totally at the whim of the President…he can be fired at anytime any President during that 10 years.

Fox is not a “U.S. District Court Judge.” He is a magistrate judge (or what we used to just call 'magistrates"). Magistrates are selected by the real Article III judges of a district and serve an eight year term subject to reappointment. Magistrate-Judges handle most discovery disputes on the civil side and handle arraignments, probable cause hearings and warrant requests on the criminal side.
