Wow, we really are witnessing the death of the GOP. Itâs been a long time comingâŚ
What a little sh!t this Brian Newby guy seems to be. Proof of citizenship? Seriously? Who carries that around?
Kobachâs pants must smell like his butthole now.
They were going to send flowers to Phyllis Schlaflyâs funeral, but thought a ruling would last longer.
Anyone volunteer to drive a stake through her heart to be sure she wonât come back in vampire form?
To be fair, heâs head of the Election Assistance Council, so his job must be to âAssistâ elections - which wonât even be real elections unless, you know, the right people win.
â[Kris Kobach] rejected claims that the requirement undermined voter registration, saying Kansas voter rolls have risen overall this year.â
Proof positive that the proof of citizenship requirement has allowed the true patriots in real America to come out of the shadows and assert their Constitutional right to rule without interference from minorities, much like RFRA has freed their brethren the oppressed white Xtian from the shackles of anti discrimination laws.
Hereâs another look at Brian Newby, Kris Kobachâs little bitch!
The fact that that Dem position is left vacant during a presidential year is barely mentioned by the reporter - itâs not the story here - but itâs infuriating.
That right there says pretty much all there is to say about the GOPâs attitude toward Democracy and its institutions.
What the Repubs cannot garner in the political arena of ideas, they try to achieve via voter suppression. They will fail.
Iâm afraid itâll be a long time going as well.
Too much fking $$$ to âdieâ in a hurry, imo.
And, who the fk hired this creep to work for the fedâs anyhow???
Checking references/cvâs anybody?
Probably appointed by congressional Republicans. Thatâs how those commissions usually are. President in power appoints his partyâs reps, leadership of the party opposite the President appoints the others
Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach had argued that the change was needed to prevent voter fraud.
There hasnât been any voter fraud even without the change, so how is it that the change was âneededâ to prevent voter fraud?
Thanks; sounds about right, i guess.
It has been obvious for some time they have no interest in Democracy whatsoever.
Well said, but they will only fail if we stay vigilant, and vote correctly. This story is just the latest example of the failure of the GOP to infest the federal judiciary with their toadies. Donât elect Republican bigots, cheaters and troglodytes. Anyone running on the Republican ticket has to prove to me, the voter, that they will not continue to enable voter suppression, sexism and Tea Party nonsense. Such candidates are few and far between.
âŚor they âfixedâ it and it wasnât even broke.

My understanding is that there are two voting lists in each KS county. One list is where some one registered to vote at a County Board of Elections where one would have to show proof of citizenship and the other if one registered at the DMV under the Motor Voter Law where one didnât have to show proof if citizenship. So KS had cases where some one thought they were registered for all elections and were only registered to vote in federal elections because they registered at the DMV.
I one should ask Kobach, now that he has been given prosecutorial authority how many cases has he prosecuted and what were the circumstances under which the cases were brought?
